View Full Version : Car Keyed!!!

Well somebody wished me a Happy New Year in a different kind of way.... by keying the side of my BMW 335. :ragin::ragin::frown:

Went out for a family meal on Saturday afternoon and parked the car on the main street in Bridge Of Weir which i have never heard any issues with as lived there most of my life.

Came back to the car and wing, rear door and rear quarter panel keyed and all in broad daylight. Felt sick when I saw it as noticed it straight away, it just ruined the whole day.

No CCTV around so no catching the scumbag who did it either.

Not sure really how bad it is from a professional's point of view and may not be as bad as i actually think. It looks horrific to me! Been recommended to try Touch Ups in Glasgow as i hear the work is very good. We don't have a Body Shop as such at Harry Fairbairn and our own work is outsourced to Arnold Clark.

Think i just want to pay myself and keep away from Insurance again, they hammered me already when my Golf was written off when nothing to do with me and i wasn't even in the car at the time.

Anybody else had their MINI in Touch Ups Body Repair in Glasgow?

Sorry to hear this and it really annoys me when things like this happen. I don't know why folk feel the need to do it and I'd feel exactly the same as you do. Sorry I can't help with your recommended touch up repair shop but have a mate that has a paint shop should you need a quote to get it sorted. Gutted for you and hope you get it sorted as soon as you can ...

:(

Touch wood I've never had one of mine keyed, but I know a few people who have. No idea why anybody would want to key a car - jealousy I suspect plays a large part.

Very annoying Ivan, hopefully you can get its fixed quickly. I've never understood why people feel the need to touch never mind damage other people's property. It's very annoying how the culprit gets away with no consequence

Disgusting! Makes you wonder what sort of sad turd somebody is to have to do something like that to make themselves feel better... It's a jealousy thing - these d*ckweeds see a nice motor and assume they have the right to mess with it. They don't seem to have a clue about how hard the owner had to work to get that nice motor or how distressing it is to have it damaged, especially in such a pointless, malicious way. We can only hope that 'Karma' (or in this case 'Car-ma') kicks in somewhere down the line and this tiny-minded piece of human effluent gets what's coming...

Sorry, I appear to have "Gone off on one" :ragin:
Hope you get it sorted without too much trouble and expense.

That's sickening Ivan, hope you get a good repair on it. There really is a lot of pure scum around these days.

Been in to Touch Up in Glasgow today for an assessment, front wing and rear quarter will need a respray as too deep into the paint, back door however may buff/polish out as not as deep.

Just waiting on a price for the work now......

Utter scumbags ....... never understood the satisfaction in this. Our wee Fiesta has been keyed before so I can feel your pain.

Hope you get a satisfactory fix.

They should have their hands cut off, it's just pure jealousy I think when folk do this, they see a nice car and must think if they cant afford it then you shouldn't have it! Doesn't have to be an expensive car as I've seen couple of older cars done!

Rage!! Jealousy is an illness why people feel the need to do that to other people's things I will never know.
Yeah I know of Touch up's very well. :thumbs up:

Well, car is back and i am absolutely delighted with the finished result. Touch Ups Bodyshop Glasgow did a fantastic job so would highly recommend to anyone. They are perfectionists.

Some photos of the process.

Glad that it's back and more importantly that you're happy with the job. After spending some time in the paint shop over the past year it's amazing how much time and work goes into the job and what looks so easy really is a work of art. I did have a go, however I have to say I'll leave it to the professionals [emoji106]
