I've been lucky enough to have been in Austria four times, once in the cairngorms back a few years when we apparently had more snow than most parts of Canada... or so i heard. Still great fun up there!
Congrats on your 10,001st NMS post rob! lol

I did a bit of snow boarding way back at The Sheffield Ski Village.
I really enjoyed it but have not tried it again for about the last 20 odd years.

Skiing years ago, not been for ages.
But my mother's Austrian, so should be in the genes?! Ha ha. [emoji4]
Cheaper to go to mainland Europe than Scotland for us south of the border, I think?
Dunno, not been for years...

My winter sport is bicycle riding, the same as my summer sport. And if you think you are a winter tyre enthusiast, you're just pretending unless you have winter bicycle tyres (hand made in Chormany, so the same price as a cheap winter car tyre!).

Their grip is far more impressive than winter car tyres but produce the problem that while you can always grip when moving, when you stop there's no guarantee your shoes/boots will grip as well.

Ski about average level.. but pretty rusty. Been boarding once before with mixed results (comedy downhill snowball), but I think we're going again in March

Skiing for me, been skiing since I was 15.
Cant do moguls or big jumps (knees) anymore but managed 30'000ft vertical descent in 1 day at Zermatt a couple of years ago. fastest recorded speed was 56MPH :D
Would be up for a get together this season.
Neil.
