iPhone cable

I'm needing a USB/jack iPhone 6 cable for the car and on checking the price from MINI it retails around £45. I'll not be paying that for a cable so just wanted to know if I bought a non OEM one would it still give me all the functions and if so which one should I get ?
Some start as little as £5 but not sure if that'll work or not.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...

I've got a £5 one off eBay that charges my phone and plays music but doesn't give you all the functions. I did some time ago buy a y cable one off Amazon for about £17. It last nearly 2 years before it broke but still much cheaper than MINI. Looked identical too

Ive got a MINI Y cable with a 30pin to Lightning adapter from a pound store, so I can switch between Ipod and Iphone 6

I have the genuine Y cable as I wanted to have all the functions, and it displays album art work, and if you download the mini/bmw connected app then you can play videos as well.

I might still have the iphone 4 Y lead which supports video if it is of any use to you as I have an iphone 6 now so bought the new lead.

Just bought one made by Polaroid and works great charges quick and no problems so far, was about £17.00
