Test drove a nice clean 2005 Cooper S last night down at Penrith, where I do a change over in my lorry, guy came out to see me and it was a nice clean standard car never been mucked about. Wee question about the box as it was nice n tight, and as its a couple of years since I last drove an S just wondered if that was ok-done 90,000 miles with FSH and not a sign of any problems ahead as don't want any large unexpected bills. Hoping to do the deal today if this checks out and pick up on Friday, so any help asap from anyone please and thank you :thumbs up::thumbs up::cool:

cheers Paul

Paul. Always difficult to tell with gearbox but if it feels ok then usually it is. Like all these mechanical things if it's been looked after you should be ok but there's always wear and tear. My S has done 90+ and still drives great ... Sounds like a wee MINI is heading north of the border :)

Although it's a different box, my 2004 'crappy' Midland box with 75k still feels nice & tight.

One careful owner mind :thumbs up::Whistle::rolleyes:
