Kinda got the full on Bug now that I've changed my lights, want my wiper off. Had a good look round and it's pretty damn easy apart from getting the actual blade off, any help?

I see that there are actually two different variations of rear wipers on the r53 but can't find out if it is a facelift thing or not (can anyone shed some light?, don't want to put too much brute force into this but looks pretty welded on [emoji28] I don't want to cut it off [emoji29]

lots of penetrating fluid . ive found that plusgas is better than wd 40 .make sure you let it soak in before you try to move it .if that fails try some gentle heat as the cast alloy should expand faster than the steel spindle

Absolutely no joy [emoji35]

Rob - I'm about 15 minutes struggle away from grabbing the hacksaw [emoji23]

Pete - I'll offer you mine but it might be in two bits [emoji23]

Craig you should be able to wiggle it free it's not held on by anything at all other than it's probably never been off so probably rusted together. Plenty of WD40 and waggling should sort it.
Oh no Pete ... Mind you've not got a hole in your rear window for a wiper !!

Spend about two hours + tea break + half a can of WD and it didn't even show signs of thinking about moving [emoji35]

It's gone now so no matter [emoji106]🏽

Unfortunately dissimilar metal's cause corrosion which can be impossible to separate without drastic action
