Great news.
It promises to be a good night. MINI UK are running the event on behalf of the dealers and they don't tend to disappoint when it comes to events

As an Aberdonian, it's pants that we'd have to travel 120+ miles to attend one of these events.
John Clark sell a ton of Minis, they're everywhere up here, so who have they upset?

Think you would have to ask them that as this is a MINI organised event for the Edinburgh and surrounding are, which I belive is doing a tour of the UK

Hi Mike,
Yes unfortunately MINI UK have only planned 9 events in total for the whole of the UK so you can imagine the amount of customers and dealerships across Great Britain who are in the same predicament to you. We are in the same boat at Harry Fairbairn with a couple of our sites located in Inverness and Ayrshire which is just too far to travel for our customers.
It is out of the Retailers control so in your situation it has not been John Clark's fault, but i have already fed back to the Manufacturer the amount of unhappy customers we have had over the one Scottish location event.
Its not long until launch and all cars will be available at every MINI Retailer from the 31st October.
Hope this feedback has helped from a Harry Fairbairn perspective.
Ivan
See everyone later. Looking forward to this.
Have a good night everyone. I won't be there this evening.
Not giving anything away but I have seen some of the photos from Bristol and Liverpool Events and they looked fantastic and post event feedback from attendees of the event and the car has been extremely positive.

And it has an 8 speed flappy paddle box on the Coop S. Real quality feel and no need to saw legs off to get in the back.

Said to Jude this morning that if things were diff the new clubman would be the replacement for the CM next year as it's beautiful and not what I was expecting from the photos... It is however massive and shows that mini is definitely moving away from "the mini" and is now seeking another part of the market... Pricing seems good compared to others in the same market place too :)

Don't worry they still make the hatch if it's too big which it will be for some :) it's a nice compromise for someone who wants a hatch with the practicality of the Countryman. I really liked it and could see myself in one (I shouldn't have said that on here... Every time I say I like something I end up buying it lol)

Ivan,
thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated, I've been out of action over the weekend so hadn't noticed.
To be honest it's just the usual central belt biased crap that I should be used to by now, but it still grinds my gears when it's something I'd genuinely like to go to.
The car looks pretty good in the pictures, but I probably won't be dropping everything now to go and see it when it finally arrives in the showrooms.

Not sure, I'd like to see the Melting Silver out in the sun before deciding. Perhaps BRG with the silver roof. The S at the preview had the JCW Aerokit option ;) had a little play with the configurator last night.
