Big MINI Show 13th September 2015

Right folks just time to mention the one and only show that's dedicated to the new MINI.
I've contacted Tony and booked us a club stand for the show so we just need to start collecting numbers (and collect payments for it).
As many of you know WE (NMS) won best club at it last year (2014) and it would be nice to retain the trophy again this year. Not only is there another trophy at stake but also a cash prize of £75 !
The show will be taking place on Sunday 13.09.2015 at Penkridge Market, Staffordshire. I'm sure tickets are £9 each but I'll have that confirmed.
What I'm needing is a show of hands to those who fancy attending .so I can confirm stand spaces with Tony and you can get tickets bought.

We have some great entertainment at this years show! The Extreme Mountain Bike show will be performing 3 shows throughout the day! The Extreme Mountain Bike Show is the UK and Europe’s number one mountain bike and Trials/BMX demonstration team lead by the Multiple British and European trials bike champion Danny Butler.


LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS AREA
At this Years show we are expanding our Live Demonstration Area. It will be a undercover section with its own PA System. There will be various demonstrations throughout the day, a timetable will be available very soon!

We are looking for cleaning fanatics to enter our Show & Shine Competition at The Big Mini Show, it is a little different to other Show & Shine as we take into account the miles your Mini has done compared to its age and how many miles you have traveled to the show! I was looking to try and get time off work to come down to this and looked at Premier Inns in Stafford. At the moment you can get rooms for £53 on the Saturday night at the Hurricane one which is only 9 miles away from Penkridge Market. Staying Saturday and Sunday is £92

Sunday 13th September 2015, 10am - 4pm

We have loads going on at this years show, Mountain Bike Stunt Show, Live Detailing and Vinyl Wrapping Demonstrations, Show & Shine, MAC Photography, Live DJ, MINI Car Boot, Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Peoples Choice Award, Lowest MINI of The Day and much more!

We have had huge support from Businesses this year and have the following companies offering their products and services, Lohen, iShine Car Care, Sticka UP, Chromiumtech, MJR Minimatt, The Speed Factory, Magnetagz, Jim’ll Fix it Paintless Dent Removal, New MINI Stuff, Picture My Gift, Modern & Classic Car Clothing, Carvotion, Bilston Motor Spares and MINI RNT.

We have also improved our catering this year, we have great Breakfast and Burgers, Fancy Fries, Baked in Brick Pizza, Churros, Ice cream and Per Cup Coffee!

The Big MINI Show is all on hard standing and all demos and trade stands are under cover, so come rain and shine the show will go on!

We also have the best MINI club award, this year we are offering a £75 cash prize for the best MINI club!!! This one is judged my myself, after running clubs and organising events I know what it takes to bring a club together, so I look for not only how many MINI's there are but the enthusiasm of the club and the effort people go to!

Everyone on a clubstand MUST have a advanced ticket to be on the stand. Tickets are £7 each and under 14’s are free of charge. They are on sale until Monday 7th September. Everyone needs to order their own ticket, they are available from www.thebigminishow.com/tickets

Clubstand numbers need to be confirmed by Sunday 7th September, I will send a virtual pass to the club organiser and they can distribute them, they can be printed off or shown on your phone or tablet.

Cost per room is £67 which you can settle with me prior to the show one way or another ...
Looking forward to this now and we all know that might even get a car park view lol

Now that the word is out on FB I can reveal why I've been a tad quiet over last last few days.
I've been cutting some stickers to sell at this years BMS to raise some money for Marie Curie in memory of Rich Philips.
They are 90mm x 60mm and are Orange for obvious reasons.
They will be sold for a minimum £1 donation each.
Any donation though will be appreciated.

On that note how does meeting at Abington Services at 0900 hours on Saturday sound to everyone for the convoy down. It says that it's a 4.5 hour drive which mean with stops and chats it'll take us about 5.5 hours being sensible. Simple route M74/M6 straight line ... I know that others might want to head down later and that's fine. Any issues shout out now lol ....

Great weekend to round off a great show season with NMS. Best thing I ever did joining the site :saltireflag: hope everyone made it home safe, looking forward to some pictures :)

Well where to start. A big thank you to Tony and his Team and to everyone that made the travel down to BMS, I think we can all agree that is was a fantastic weekend away with lots of great laughs starting on the road down and finishing when we all said our goodbyes. Our stand was looking fantastic with some of NMSs best cars on show for the last show of the year.

A huge thank you for everyone's efforts over the show season calender this year, if you haven't been to a show with NMS it's a must, I promise you will have a great time.

Well Mac and I have had a fantastic weekend! I was a bit nervous about doing the driving part myself, and want to thank you all for being so patient with me and helping to keep me right. As usual it was a great laugh on the Saturday night, from the new purple sparkly stickers (thanks again Pete), to the helium carry on! Had a fab day at the show, the cars looked amazing and it was great that the weather behaved. Well done to Davy and Pete for bagging the trophies, I thought 'our' GP looked amazing!

I just wanted to add my own thank you to everybody who attended BMS at the weekend, what a fantastic weekend it was and full of memories I'm sure we'll all share again in the future. The drive down was a bit wet to say the least, but by the time we made the hotel the sun had come out and the cleaning started (yes even me). Soon after it was off to the pub for a couple of drinks, then next door to the Chinese for a bit of dinner before returning to the pub for another few soft drinks of course ;) The night was filled with chat, a lot of laughs and most of all great friends.

The club stand looked fantastic, perhaps the best of the year and everyone can be very proud, I know I certainly was, all the cars looked great. It's a shame we didn't win best club stand, but you can't win everything, only fair to share! I for one am looking forward to next years show season already, it'll be here before we know it.

Well done to Cat and Davy for their trophy, the GP looked amazing ;) Also a special well done to Pete for the GP Mick award again. :thumbs up:

An amazing couple of days away. The weather didn't dampen our fun on the Sat and all the cars were looking great before we retired for a well earned drink. Some others then joined as later (David and Fiona and Dave from GPUK) for a bite to eat in the Chinese and a few diet cokes.... It's all Davys fault re the balloons !! :)

Sunday's show was as I remember the first (I missed last year) being friendly and like a whole family of MINI folk had got together for a right old natter and show off their cars. I even managed to win a couple of prizes at the raffle :)

Thanks to Tony and the team for an amazing job - here is to another success next year.

Shows are always a bit emotional for me as the car has my dads plate on and I was wearing the old boys kilt too, and when the DJ put on "See you again" after the prize giving, I did have a tear in my eye... Jesus, I'm getting softer in my old age ! :lol:

Well what more can I say that's not already been said.
Firstly a heartfelt thanks to all those that helped Cat make it there and back without any hassle, I appreciate each and everyone's help in keeping her right and making it so enjoyable for her in the MINI convoy. Think I spent moe time looking in my rear view mirror than I did out the windscreen on Saturday ... so thank you all.
Secondly massive thanks to all that spent the weekend with us and the carry on that ensued ... No doubt I'll have to think of an excuse when I face the committee at the next meeting lol. It's weekends like this that money just can't buy and a massive thanks again to everyone that contributed to the laughs and tears.
A total nightmare when we left on Saturday with the weather and to say I was annoyed was an under statement. Still you've got to deal with the rough now and then and although the GP didn't win it did pick up second place so shouldn't be too disappointed ... There's always next year.
Another great show put on by Tony. I love this one not only because it's all new MINI but for the fact it's relaxing and you get to chat to loads of the owners without it feeling rushed. I know that it's not to the same scale as MITP but everything runs so smoothly and this year Tony was almost laid back, a credit to the organisation and his team. Thanks again Tony.
Like the others have said we didn't retain the club award but the cars were a credit to the stand and every single one looked fantastic. Well done to each and every one of you.
Pete you were a well deserved winner of the GP Mick award and can I personally say a massive thanks for everything that you have contributed to not only the GPOCUK this year but to all the hard earned miles that you've put in for NMS.

Well, another fun, and cider fuelled, weekend went by in the blink of an eye.
I drove straight across country which ended up with me covering the 75 miles in 2h 20m. Normally I would be raging at that kind of time for 75 miles but it was the best fun I've ever had getting an average speed of under 35mph for a run to a show.
The site of NMS running around like ants at the back of the hotel whilst cleaning always put a smile on my face.
From the hello hugs to the goodbye hugs went by way too quickly once again but every single minute In-between was an absolute joy.
I want to personally thank you all for the card it is highly appreciated but the pleasure of meeting you all throughout various points in the year is worth every single mile that I do.
I'll gloss over the "Helium Incident" as that has all ready been covered.
;)
I'm so glad that you liked the stickers Cat, I'll get working on the huge one for the rear window at some point this week.

The NMS stand looks stunning, as always, and the cars were a credit to you all considering the weather you drove through to get to it.
I'll post up my pics tonight, only about 120 this year, but the chatting always gets in the way of the photography.
Congrats to Davy for winning another OCD trophy and also to the rest of you for yet another huge effort to attend.
Thanks to Tony, his family and friends for yet another cracking BMS.

Really enjoyed my first time on a club stand at a show, I definitely chose the right club to do it with. I'll be looking for more shows and runs next season and hopefully will join you for the pre-show shenanigans next time.
As has already been said, for any one thinking of joining NMS at a show next year - do it! I'd highly recommend it!

Really enjoyed my first time on a club stand at a show, I definitely chose the right club to do it with. I'll be looking for more shows and runs next season and hopefully will join you for the pre-show shenanigans next time.
As has already been said, for any one thinking of joining NMS at a show next year - do it! I'd highly recommend it!

Another great weekend away at the big mini show with nms friends great weekend had by all great weather good company and a few laughs along the way big thanks to Davy and all who made the weekend possible by organising everything roll on the next time :hand::thumbs up:

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I'd like to say thank you all for a great weekend :) it's always over far too quickly. I was actually quite happy to have been sat at the back of the convoy apart from when a Traffic X5 joined the M6 Northbound directly in front of me and I had to sit at 70 lol don't worry I knew he couldn't see anyone else but it did mean having to slyly hide the radio until he was out of sight :smilewinkgrin:

Having just got my car back at 7pm Thursday and working Friday it wasn't going to be perfect but it was presentable then of course the heavens opened on the way down and I had to borrow some cleaning stuff from Andrew (thanks again) :thumbs up: after cleaning it was time for the fun and games to commence.

Having had a lovely meal at the pub last year I was a bit dubious at the thought of going for a Chinese as it's rare for 2 nice eateries to be next door to each other in the middle of nowhere. I had to make what was a very difficult decision since I didn't know what I fancied but it was a good choice I had made. I was shocked that they mixed mine and Craig's meals up and just gave the pork to Craig after I had taken a bit of it. I was thinking that the duck wasn't as rich as I expected it to be but I thought it was down to me not having had it for years.

The show was great, very well organised and some cracking traders.

As always it was a brilliant couple of days with great friends another unforgettable weekend with a car show thrown in too.

Well done Davy on your OCD award and well done Pete on winning the GP Mick award :) both well deserved.
