Ok Folks, this thread is to sign up for the club stand and for details of hotel (for anyone wanting it) and also convoy details for getting to the show.

We are currently researching where we are going to stay as although the hotel was great last year, the parking was less than ideal... Davy never slept !! :lol:

Hotel info from Davy

Right folks after a lot of phoning about and being in a group I've struggled to secure a hotel that will take us all as a group, that is until now.

I've managed to book 10 rooms at the Birley Arms Hotel which is just 4 miles away from the venue and it has secure parking.

The only downside is that i will require firstly you to confirm that you're going and secondly i'm needing payment.

The cost of the hotel is £75 (may be a discount but I'll refund any excess) and if possible could payments be made to me as soon as possible as I've had to pay the hotel for the booking.

I've checked with the hotel and it has its own private parking and its secure too .. we'll no doubt be able to secure the use of a tap too.

On that basis we will need to find a hotel which has Family Rooms. I have just been on the Premier Inn Website and they have rooms on 20th June for £87.50 including breakfast, at Blackpool Airport. Looks to be the closest to Lytham. Any thoughts from the regulars??

Plan is currently as follows...

Meet at Bothwell services - leaving there at 10:00hrs

Rendezvous at Abington approx 10:30 to pick up the Edinburger gang and then head down to Lytham, hopefully get down there about 1ish. Gives us plenty time for any hold ups and to get the cars clean for the following day, plus a couple of refreshments and dinner :)

Andrew has mentioned that due to roadworks, there is no chance to return onto the M74 from Bothwell Services, so we have 2 choices

All just meet at Abington Services for a 10:30 leave or

West folk meet at the Hamilton Asda instead.

I think there is only myself Davy and Andrew meeting in the west, I think all others are going from Edinburgh side and heading down to Abington and others are going down later....

Think the op has been a success, with big improvement already in the repaired eye.

Wow, where do I start. Brilliant weekend with friends, old and new. Big thanks to Craig and Davy for organising. The hotel, food and banter was superb. I think it is safe to say we have cured Siubhan of the "Driving Like Miss Daisy" syndrome:thumbs up::mclaren:

Just got home and had an absolute blast as always. I'm gutted I couldn't make the convoy down but last night and today more than made up for it. I've came to the conclusion that there's nothing more enjoyable than a weekend away with you guys.

The atmosphere and banter is what makes this club stand out, not only that but everyone goes the extra mile for everyone else.

I thought it was hilarious when I when I had my arm twisted to enter Show and Shine it was all part of the fun and to be honest I expected them to take one look at mine shake their head and go to the next car lol but they didn't but just after they started judging I knew it was game over because I realised I had missed one bit, the inside of 1 wheel. Then Andrew came over and made sure I didn't win by telling me they didn't look under the bonnet so I stopped cleaning it and shut it :p but I wasn't expecting to win because it's never going to be a show car, I'm surprised it's even allowed on the NMS stand lol, but no you could tell everyone was going the extra mile and all the cars looked great as always but I totally agree the best club won... Again :) WELL DONE :thumbs up:

Almost forgot... The hotel was a great find Davy! thanks for organising that I'd be happy if that's where we stay next year :thumbs up:

A huge thanks to everyone that was on the NMS stand today, for their contribution and time to the club. What an absolutely fantastic weekend from start to finish and to top it off we won Best Club Stand. What a great start to the show year and just goes to show that we are being noticed for being the BEST Club out there.

Wahey Mega Mini Meet Best Club Stand 2015!

Another fantastic weekend away with NMS, time just seemed to fly by, a quick 3 hours down the motorway and we where checked into the hotel arranged by Craig and Davy, think next year we might just have to take over the entire place! A quick wash of the cars and I even managed to get Davy to clean my wheels for me - knew if I left them manky enough he'd clean em for me, wonder if he's seen my engine bay yet ;)

Then into the bar for some grub, a few drinks and a good chat with friends old and new, plenty of laughs as usual and time just disappeared before I knew it time (and a drink or 2) caught up with me and it was time for bed. Up bright and early the next morning for breakfast and off to Mega Mini Meet we went, parked up and expertly arranged it was time for another clean (I've never cleaned my car this much). For some reason entering show and shine seemed like a good idea - was all going so well until it came to the engine bay :lol: On went the kilts, out came the sunshine and out came the wallet!

Then came the moment we'd all been waiting for, the announcement of the awards - and in case you didn't know we won!! I'm massively proud of the effort everybody put in who attended the show, we couldn't have come away with the biggest prize of all without everybody being there and putting in the effort to make NMS what it is.

Well where to start ,great run down to the hotel ,what a find that was ,big thanks to Davy and Craig for the organising of the hotel and sorting out the show ,everyone mucked in getting the cars sorted out in time which helps settle the nerves of anyone attending for the first time �� good to see all the new faces at this years MMM , great to see the effort put in by Craig and his new car and Ian for travelling down to the show at such short notice ,hope you all enjoyed it ,and would be great to have you both on board for Heartbeat 2 ,The best club stand was a bonus that no one expected and was well deserved by you all .....take a bow peeps ,Daryl ..hope the family enjoyed their first show and thanks for the teas and coffee for the troops .:yes nod:

Well where do we start ... Another great weekend over with too quickly !
It was Friday when I sneaked away early from the office and thought I better start getting the S ready for its weekend trip away. On heading home and making a start on it I knew I'd be against the weather but hammered on regardless. Needless to say I was right and after a fleeting visit from the big fella to ask why I hadn't answered his earlier call, the cleaning stuff was put away and I resigned myself to the fact that a clean of the car once "doon the road" on Saturday would need to suffice. So it was a case of packing the bag and digging out a few bits and pieces before tiring to bed for another pre show weekend sleepless night. A check of the clock at 0130, 0230, 0330 and 0430 revealed that it was dry and I actually thought I'd get out of bed and go and pack the car and give it a quick wipe down before heading off. As usual the plans were scuppered when I got dressed and got as far as the kitchen to see it'd started raining again ... F it back to bed to try and get another hours sleep. No chance ! So a flick through the forum and a couple of texts to the "usual suspects" and before I knew it, it was time to meet Craig, Daryl, Siobhan, Gregor and Emily along the road for the short trip over to Hamilton to collect Andrew before meeting up with everyone else .. As would appear to be tradition now the rain starts as we set off for just long enough to get the cars dirty ! Still it's a MINI weekend and sometimes not having a clean car is part of the fun.
A short trip down the road saw us meet up with Andrew on the move and we headed to Abington to meet the rest of the gang. As always everyone was well ahead of time so a quick coffee and bar of chocolate was the order of the day. It would appear that car shows were happening up and down the country this weekend with the Alfa Romeo folk heading to Cheshire and the VW gang heading to Kendal. There was really only one place to be heading though and that was with NMS to Lytham St.Annes for the annual Mega MINI Meet (MMM). All sorted and with Rob and Christine moving their house contents into William and Megan's cars. After getting the roundabout at the end of the services it would appear that Christine had forgotten her phone and after a couple of laps of the "circle" we abandoned the plan to collect it and the journey Doug began in earnest.
A steady run South saw Siobhan (and Emily) up the front and getting to grips with the NMS convoy ... even risking a quick overtake before managing to negotiate the slip road for the inaugural toilet stop. Everyone suitably refreshed and Christina happily munching her way through a box of seaweed, yes seaweed ... we jumped back in the cars and the convoy began again. A steady run down saw rain, drizzle, mist, rain, drizzle, rain and oh a wee bit more drizzle before we got closer to the hotel. Craig unaware that the rest of the convoy had been caught with some parked cars disappeared into the distant before he could be found driving up the hill and before we knew it he was stood in the middle of the road waving frantically the convoy into the car park only to see GP1499 in attendance and a certain Mr Morgan stood at the hotel (http://www.thebirleyarms.co.uk) entrance .. Ecig in one hand bottle of Bulmers in the other. This theme appeared to carry on throughout the evening along with a warning or two lol !!
On the cars being parked and everyone making it into The Birley Arms Hotel .. check in was negotiated successfully and after everyone had checked out their room it was like a star burst into the car to find the tap and get the cars washed, in the rain. Pete had decided that it was too much hassle to put thy cider doon and t'gi thy car t'wash and he decided to supervise the wash proceedings. The cars all done, some to a higher standard than others (I'll not mention Andrews wheels) we all retired to the bar for a quick bite to eat and the usual pre show catch up.
At this point I'd like to thank what appears to be Catherine (my better half), Megan and Andrew who clearly decided that it was my turn to receive a gift. Anyway most know the story by now and Megan made the prevention of a "triangle" and "learn to play the guitar" book. A massive thank you to all those involved ... and I can assure you I will not forget it and I'm sure it'll come back to haunt you all at some point ! Oh how time flies and before we knew it Craig had arrived and the lads popped out to check out the new wheels. After a quick look around and noting the sun had come out it was time for dinner and we were escorted into the conservatory (out the way) ... To say the menu at the hotel was great was under statement with plenty of choice for everyone and after a quick look over it "mixed grill" was the order for the nights dinner. After seeing the starter that Brian and Christina shared, I waited with excitement on my dinner arriving. To say it was a plateful would not do it justice ... It was a big plate full. Needless to say waste not want not and the plate was empty although unusually I couldn't manage a sweet ... Unlike some Andrew and Christine !!
Either table cleared, Dave and Fiona along with Eddie and Rachael appeared to join the party and "spirits" continued well into the night accompanied by a few stories and a certain song from Elton John !! All good things have to come to and end and that was reinforced when the Bulmers had been exhausted and it was time to call it a day. As Eddie, Rachael, left Pete and I we headed to our room. On Pete reaching his room we noticed that it didn't have a number and I thought he was trying to get into the cleaning cupboard. Well I apologise now to those that we woke up with our childish laughter but we couldn't stop laughing ... and a few seconds later Eddie and Rachael reappeared to see what was going on. So to all those that we woke up .... "It was Petes fault" ! Back in the room it didn't take long to drift off to sleep but for some reason the excitement of MMM meant I saw every hour again on the clock.
As the clock turned 6 I decided I could wait no longer and nipped out to check on the cars condition and pack a few things to save time later. A few shots of the cars parked up were taken and I hadn't been at the car more than 10 minutes when it started to rain (again). Luck was not on my side this weekend weather wise that's for sure. On looking round I noticed Eddie waving from his upstairs window furiously as if he was being held hostage and was trying to attract attention of anyone passing ... and a few seconds later I was joined in the car park by him and Pete, who thought that the ground was moving !! With no change in the weather I popped into the hotel foyer and as the troops appeared one by one we waited on breakfast.
Breakfast over and done with and a quick checkout and chat with the staff it was time to set off for a short 10 minute drive to the show (lytham hall). A few scrapes and bumps later we were entering the grounds and the sun had finally come out.
The entrance fee was paid and it was time to find our spot, which was clearly smaller than what we'd hoped for but in true NMS fashion we worked with what we had. Cars all in formation and straight it was cleaning time. Having over run at breakfast meant by the time we were parked up it was just about time for the show to open to the public so a mass cleaning frenzy started in an effort to get the cars looking as good as possible in the time we had. Somewhere along the way a number of us decided to enter the show and shine and drastic efforts were made to have the cars cleaned to a standard to be judged ... After a bit of last minute rushing about and in true NMS spirit everyone pulling together to help each other all the cars were done and some of us disappeared to slip into something a little bit more relaxing ... kilts !
To say it doesn't look good seeing a group of guys walking into a baby changing room and the door shutting behind them is an under statement. I dread to think what folk must have thought as we appeared a short time later "kilted up" and ready to do business. Had anyone been listening at the door whilst the gang were getting changed i think they'd have wondered what was going on ... but Craig "sweating like a Geordie in a maths test" certainly didn't look good as the door opened and we all left the changing area !!
Anyway as we headed back to the stand Christina informed us that our cars had been checked and scored and it was time to relax ! A wee wonder about the show to see what was on offer along with chats to the familiar faces saw it way past lunchtime. A massive thanks to all those that bought goodies with them and had things on offer ... but the Pink Pigs were definitely mine and Jessica's favourite ! Although I did manage to sneak a wee marshmallow wafer in too ...
A few photos later and a chat to some of the GPUKOC that had made the trip and the raffle and show and shine results were being announced. Well done to Eddie for guessing the exact amount of MINIs through the gate (351) and all those that won a raffle prize.
And the winner of the club stand is ..... New MINI Scotland. There was a slight pause until everyone realised that we'd won and the cheers went up. William raced through the crowd and cars and collected our trophy ! Well done to everyone for the effort they had put in and it was cuddles and handshakes all round ... With folk starting to drift away the NMS and GP gang tidied up the area, the cars were packed and after a wee photo shoot with the spitfire it was time to say our goodbyes and head for the hills. Craig decided it was best to make sure that we'd got everyone and took us the wrong way just to do so ... before we were headed onto the motorway and the straight run home.
All in all an excellent weekend and I'm sure that those who attended will all agree. The purpose of this wee write up is just to show there's nothing to be scared of popping along and joining us. Your car doesn't need to be modded or shiny it just needs you to pop along and join in the fun. I have to admit there's a few crazy ones in the group but you'll suss them out without too much trouble but please feel free to join us on the next "NMS MINI adventure" ...
A massive thanks again to all those that made the trip and helped NMS to another trophy, you are all a credit to the club and without you the club would not be one of the best MINI clubs in the country. Thanks again and mind if you fancy meeting some of the members there's a meet on next Sunday 28th June it'd be great to see you there ... ;);)

What a weekend that was. From cleaning my car on Saturday. Then getting asked to be on the stand. Shame I didn't make it down with use. But I'm glad I traveled down anyway. Was good to meet new members but also seeing the ones iv already met. Everyone is so friendly too, which helped a lot. Can't wait until the next meet or show and hope we can bring in more prizes. Hip hip HORRAY

Another monster weekend away with a few GPUKOC and a load of NMS members.
The laughs, banter and friendship was top notch as always.
It was great to meet up with old friends and to make some new ones.
A huge thank you from me to each and every one of you all for adding more great MINI memories to my ever growing collection.
