Having bought a wee cooper the only thing it is missing are bonnet stripes.

I've bought some off eBay but was looking for some tips on applying them?

Really don't want to mess it up!

Christine the way I would do it is lay them flat on the bonnet and work out exactly where you want them, then tape (masking tape ideally) them down at both ends. After making sure that they're in the right place and you're happy with them lift up the tape at the front of the bonnet and if you've got a spray bottle of water lightly mist the bonnet under the stripe. Once you've done that remove the backing paper on the stripe from the back of the bonnet forward making sure that the tape holds the end of the bonnet stripe in place while you gently pull the stripe tight and lay it down the bonnet. The light misting of water will allow you to move the stripe to make sure that it's straight. Smooth out any bubbles from under the vinyl and do the same with the other side ...
Before you start though make sure that the bonnet is totally wax free or you will find they'll not stick properly.
The other alternative is getting a local graphic shop to fit them for you ..

The only thing I would add to Davy's instructions is put a little drop of washing up liquid to the wayer bottle

No you're right Brian .. the only reason I didn't mention that was because people fire a whole load of fairy liquid into it .. Literally one or two drops that's it. Too much will ruin the adhesive on the stripe ...
IMO better to use a bit more water on the bonnet than have too much fairy liquid in your sprayer.

Another heads up don't use fairy as it has salt in it and will swirl the paint if going to use some go for the cheapest you can find !!
