Hi guys, glad to find a local mini forum :) i am the owner of a 53" Cooper S in electric blue with 70k miles on the clock. Unfortunatley there are a few issues with my car, some i was able to diagnose myself, some not. Primarily i am wondering if there are any garages in scotland that specialise in mini's? lookforward to hearing back. Take it easy -G

Depending on where you are, I can highly recommend Burgoyne's at Airth. They sorted mine with a cracked head and are such a friendly family run business.

thanks for the reply! i am really looking for someone to give the car a complete once over and i know some garage's are reluctant with mini's as they are comparably quite complicated. One of my good friends owns a garage 30 seconds away but they want as little to do with mini's as possible! Do you think that is something burgoyne's would be happy to do?

Mini's aren't complicated, my local guys have never had an issue working on mine. No different to a focus, golf of the same age etc

I'm glad to hear you say that! However i've only heard negative things from the two friends i have that are mechanics! I am Based in Auchterarder. Thanks for your replies guys much appreciated! if i have other questions is it wise to post them in this thread or should i put them in their respective sections of the forum?

Burgoyne's have a wealth of Mini experience, I think they raced one or at least supported someone that did. They are very knowledgable and nothing is a problem. They are incredibly honest and will not jump in at the deep end if you have a problem, but will start at the easy / cheaper things first rather than charge you a fortune for work that might not need done. I'll never use anyone else again.

^^ as John says I've been using them for years and I wouldn't let anyone else work on my car, in fact it was me that pointed John in their direction. They all are in to Motorsport and have been for years so they're fully aware of road and race cars. I know they're not too far away but if you want to speak to them just shout and I'll give you more information. I'm usually at the garage at least once a week and speak to them sometimes a few times a week. They'll do you a good job and are fairly priced.

Welcome to NMS. Sorry to hear that you are having a few problems with your car. Ive never need to use an indepentandt grave for my cars but if the above is good enough for Davy then it would get my vote.

^^^Cheers William ... I think it's all about trust and i'm lucky that they're local. I know folk that'll travel hundreds of miles to have work done (Pete) so a few miles is nothing for me. Craig's buggy is heading there next week for some therapy too :)

Feel free to share your car problems here. I've never found a forum with so many helpful members and never once have I seen trolling, not even in response to some of my stupid questions.

That's because we don't tolerate trolls here .

Ask away but as Badwolf said best to put it in the relevant place on the forum it's them easy to find if you ever need to or for new members searching the forums can find easy

Of course ask first and maybe we can help if not we might know someone who has suffered the same fate and solved the issue with a simple cost effective fix.
