Been lurking for a while but now we've actually picked up our new car, i thought i'd introduce myself.

We've just traded in my wife's family VW Golf for a Cooper camden D and picked it up yesterday after having had a courtesy One D for a couple of weeks. Now, we are not strangers to minis per say, have more than a few of the classic ones kicking about and a metro too but that is another story! My wife wanted something fun again (we sold her TT to get the golf when we were expecting the start of our family) and was pretty much convinced on the MINI before she had even driven it. One test drive confirmed and here we are.

Performance isnt quite what we want, especially as we considered the Cooper S, but i'm pretty sure a remap will take care of that. Also been looking at a few tweeks and really getting into the little beast.

As for the other cars in the garage, given it appears a few of you have some, we've got a 1960 austin seven countryman, 82 clubman estate, 82 mini turbo and metro turbo challenge racer which i hope to take hillclimbing next year. As you can see, we're into the classic and see a bit of an extension into the new one!

Will post some photos when i get some in the daylight!

Cheers

Rob

Sounds like an interesting mini garage you have and congratulations on your new purchase.
Oh a few tweaks already ... I look forward to see what you have planned ;)

Not sure what gains you can get from a remap, i know the first gen cars were pretty much maxed out as standard

Diesel should respond quite well to a remap - figures quoted are up from 110 to approx 135 to 140bhp depending on who you go to.

Evolve state plus 30bhp for their stage 1 remap ,seems well worth it

Anyone actually got any recommendations on where to go? I normally use celtic tuning and been happy with the previous results but that was all on audis

Nice Rob and I fancied a set of those wheels on a clubby if I ever get one ..
And the last clubby brings back memories of my old clubman :(

Cheers, wheels weren't a first choice but we like them for the alternative factor.

Yes, been more than a few comments on that too. Just thinking s little drop in ride height would go a long way to improving looks too
