I ordered a CG Lock yesterday, and by some miracle, or voodoo, it turned up today.
The packaging was a bit excessive but the lock was quite easy to fit.

My first impressions are quite favourable.
It does feel a bit weird when you first put it on and pull it tight though.
After a steady drive out of the office car park and around the local streets it felt less wierd the further I drove with it on.
After warming up the engine to full temp I waited longer than I needed to at a big roundabout so that I could give it some beans around it.
Road clear and my right foot hit the floor.
A slight jink to the left and then a huge turn to the right and my ass stayed firmly planted with no sideways movement at all.
A flick to the left, to exit the roundabout, yielded the same result, I never moved sideways at all.
It still felt a little strange but in a satisfying way.
A blast up the hill with stationary traffic about 300 yards away led to test 2.
Braking.
I left the middle pedal as late as I dare and then jammed it on.
My hips stayed firmly planted and I didn't move forward as I normally would when braking excessively.
I don't normally move a lot in the seats any ways but the difference was noticeable and reasurring.
More corners and roundabouts were taken faster than normal, and a few more heavy braking manoeuvres done for good measure , and I was still firmly planted.
A plus side is that I was actually holding the steering wheel a lot more lightly than I have ever done before. I've put this down to the fact that I was fastened in tighter than normal and I didn't feel the need to steady myself by holding onto the steering with a grip of steel.
Would I recommend them ?
Yes.
Are they worth £45 ?
They don't look it until you start to drive with it on.
I still have to test it on a long drive, and general daily use, but I can really see the benefits you'd get out of using one on a big hoon or a track day.
.....more thoughts to follow after a few weeks use
...to Infinity and beyond !!!
