Hi all,

New to Mini ownership and the forum, thought I'd get on and say hello. Recently bought a '54 plate Cooper and loving it so far!

Haven't got that many pics yet...

The car stood out with relatively low miles (65,000), chilli pack, full leather and climate. Looking to keep it as it is, possibly installing a set of grille lights on the bonnet and an interior chrome pack (if it's a simple job that is). There are a couple of niggles, the flywheel is rattling (advised it's on it's way out) so it's probably getting that and a new clutch soon, the driver's door actuator is gone (told this is common) and there's a dent in the drivers door done by the previous owner that'll need hit out.

Looking to get out to some meets hopefully and get to know some like minded Mini nuts! I'm based in Glasgow so I'll try to get out to any vaguely local events. Haven't been driving long and haven't had the chance to get it out on some b-roads yet, so taking it easy...

Cheers!

Brad

Welcome along Brad good to have you on board. I'm sure you'll get the wee buggy sorted out. There's a wee MINI NMS meet in Perth at the end of this month if you fancy giving the car a wee run up the motorway.

Nice car Brad!

I got my R50 a couple of months ago and still working on the niggles but its slowly getting there. My passenger side door actuator is knackered, it locks with the remote but won't unlock unless I do it manually from inside the car.

That's a shout Davy hopefully I'll get up to that!

Yeah saw your post Sean, looks a seriously clean car! I can use the key to unlock it but it's not what you expect to have to do on a modern car...

You can pick up a new actuator on ebay for about £60 and it looks a relatively easy job to do. Its on my "to do" list but seeing as its just the passenger side door I'm in no rush. If it was the drivers side I'd have repaired it straight away as using the key would do my head in

rpn - it's flat black, the pic was taken on film that's why it might look different!

Sean - that's a shout, it's not annoying me too much but i might wait until january and see what surprises the MOT brings.
