As many of you will have seen on Facebook. After speaking with Dave at Kirkcaldy, we have managed to organise a tech night to ask questions and see behind the scenes of what happens when your car goes in to be looked after.

The propsed date is Tuesday 9th Decemeber 6.30 -8 pm

Just back about 9.00 ish and we all had a very informative evening,big thanks to Dave,Dan and Ian for supplying lots of answers to lots of questions and we also had a look at the new I3 which is kind of cool ,oh and thanks to Dave for the pressies :yes nod:,we never took a lot of pics as we were to busy looking at the data from Andrew and Darren's cars :thumbs up: ,thanks for the use of your cars guys ,who would think you could overload a USB port in the car, and Andrew the heavy right foot ......oh no it was a DSC issue ��

Thanks to the guys at HF for a fantastic insight into what goes on when you hand over the keys, really interesting to see what sort of things the computers can pick up as well! Will admit to thinking oh crap when I saw the list of issues come up for my car but when I realised it was caused by trying to keep up with either Eddie or William on the highland tour that put my mind at rest ;)

And thanks for my mug as well, have washed and dried it and popped in safely in the cupboard :thumbs up:

Ditto what everyone else has already said, really enjoyable night and it was really interesting what goes on behind the scenes. Crazy that the car records faults we didn't even know that happened. It was also great to get up close and sit in the i3, nice little car, surprisingly spacious inside.

Thanks to HF for having us up and for the MINI mugs, of course a huge thanks to Brian and William for arranging it for us :thumbs up:

If anyone did take photos and i know Brian has indicated there wasn't really the opportunity, please post them up or email some to me at ivan.reid@harryfairbairn.bmw-net.co.uk and i will put some on our website and social media.

I definitely think we should look at doing this at the other HF sites aswell in the New Year ie Inverness, Irvine, Glasgow etc as that would give more of the NMS community the opportunity to get behind the scenes local to them and see what goes on when cars come through a Service Dept.
