Has anyone any knowledge of a rule that restricts dealers selling a demonstrator prior to it being 3 months old with 1000 miles or over on the clock please?
Apparently this may be a new rule to prevent preregistering cars.
Thanks in advance.

Brilliant thanks, we'd arranged to collect the car this week and then told we'd have to wait until it was 3 months old and with over 1000 miles on the clock. The dealer apologised, but stated they had only just been told by Mini that they couldn't sell it until the above criteria were met.
The car is amazing and worth the wait though, so we'll just sit back and count the days until we can collect.
Cheers

Why not borrow the car on an extended test drive and rack up the 1000mile mark ?? Easy done with a good trip round the highlands for a weekend 😉👍

Yeah it's always been the case that they can't sell until those targets have past. The mileage has actually come down it used to be 3000 that's why the sales men always took them to put mileage on them.

It's actually for my mother, I'm just doing all the running. It's the new 168bhp Cooper SD with an options list alone that is twice the value of my R53 JCW. She only does about 2000 miles a year, so I'm hoping I might get first offer when she sells in a couple of years.
