What diagnostic tools are affordable for the home mechanic? I have an R50 and an R55 so having a tool to find faults would be helpful. Can these tools also put any lights out and reset the faults once any offending part has been replaced?
Cheers,
Sean

There are but I don't know prices etc. I just use Davy's regularly as my EML light keeps coming on

You could get a scangauge or something very similar. This will allow you to reset any warning light and to also watch engine parameters when driving.

I've got the wifi dongle that works with the iPhone just to see if there were any error codes in the history but it came up totally error free. I just like to know as much as I can about the car :)

It's worth it just to get an accurate coolant gauge
