I have a mind to fit a better air filter in my 2008 Cooper S. I know from old experience that it's usually a simple way to improve performance and or mpg. I've had a quick google but see a few people have had trouble getting an aftermarket filter that actually fits properly. Has anyone got a recommendation of an air filter which fits well and is a direct replacement for the stock one ?

Have you got a N14 or N18 ?? There is the alta kit or the AEM I have the AEM and have no trouble with it on the N14 as where Eddie jcw also had it and he had trouble with his on the N18

2008 as in my first post. After some surfing it seems N18 was fitted from late 2012 so that will make mine N14 I guess ;)

Thanks for the help

You will have an N14. Either the AEM or the Alta

If you go the Alta route, make sure you check the size of the jubilee clips, normally one of them is at the end of it's length and is very difficult to make up in place.
