The 'Engine Block' warning light came on and stay on during the whole journey to work this morning when I start the car. Any ideal what it actually means apart from the manual's general warning of "Engine malfunction with degradation of the emission"?

Here an iPhone photo

You'll need to read the actual fault code. Could be various things

Cheers, but how and where to find the code?

To find the code that's brought it on you'll need a code reader ... Plug it in to the OBD port and it'll give you the answer.

Scangauge, or bluetooth dongle in OBD, and an app on your phone.

Both of these are cheaper than paying a dealer to diagnose the problem

Just got the car back from JC. Lambda sensor replaced and solenoid valve repaired due to slight oil leak.
