If it's a true 66k miles then that's a good start, the blue interior wouldn't be my choice and can't remember if that was an option in 2002, but, potential to change to suit.
Check for steering pump repalcement, engine mounts, worn door seals, coolant leak from the fill up bottle (plastic), rocker cover leak, suspension bushes and supercharger pulley play.

Good luck with the search :thumbs up:

That interior is correct for the car. Blue half leather or blue full lapis leather were both options

Decent spec considering it was one of the first R53s. Price is too high IMO, you can get a newer one for that.

The early ones had most of the issues, a Google will tell you but check for rust under the door sill rubber, around the tailgate handle as well.

Check for hunting on idle, and a 'yo-yo' throttle (MAP sensor and bypass valve)

Charger should be good for more miles, check for oil leaks at rocker cover and sump gasket, excess whining from PAS pump, can't think of much else.

Brilliant cars, just don't expect it to be cheap to run (fuel, tax, insurance, general maintenance)

I wouldn't sell mine for the world :)

Good looking car with decent spec but like others have said blue interior for me is too much.
I think it's a little OTT price wise but room for negotiations ..

Blue interior will grow on you, mine has. Not cheap but as above maybe you can get it down some. You wont regret buying a MINI though, im on my 3rd (second r53)

Plenty R53s out there now, you can afford to be choosy to get a good one. Keep an eye on the for sale sections across the forums, an enthusiast tends to keep the car in better condition IMO

First one and grey one are facelifts, which IMO are worth getting.

First one has a few decent mods, obviously owned by an enthusiast, which you would need to declare to your insurance. The pulley alone will give over 200bhp, and a wicked whine. Wheels are worth an easy £4-500

Grey one looks a minter, MFSW as well, if you could get that for £4.5k (and it's in as good condition as it looks) I'd go for that probably
