Hi guys, i'm looking for a quick fix!
I took my front seat out recently unplugging the cables beneath. This naturally puts the airbag warning light on. Seat now back in and cables firmly secured - how do you get the light off. Is there a fix like you would do an ECU reset etc??
Thanks,
Mark

It can be reset via the diagnostics or an airbag reset tool.
Profile says you're in Edinburgh, talk to Davy Kerr at Tynecastle Garage.

Thanks guys, the car is going back into farmer autocare to get retested tomorrow and they have said they should be able to reset. They have already charged me 363 quid to get brake lines done! To add to that the rear brakes are binding! I would have thought out of courtesy they will adjust my brakes and reset airbag at no cost. Let's see what happens. Thanks for offer - May still come back to you!

Is this an MOT failure? Mine's been on since about 2003 and I've not failed yet, only had advisories.

Ok, we will see on or around the 25th. My light's been on since my first service, which was in 2003, and all I've had are advisories on the MOTs since 2005.

may seem a silly question ,but if the light has been on since first service ,why did you not get the dealer to fix it

It's a straight fail now as of 20th March 2013 so might be worth getting it switched off ..

It has been switched off at every service, but always eventually comes back on.

Have you checked the cables under the seats. They are notorious for breaking.
Might not even look broken but if you wiggle them you might feel if it is broken under the insulation.
I have repaired a couple like that. I just cut out the bad wire and soldered in a new section and then used heat shrink insulation to cover it back up.

Just an update: car went in for MOT yesterday and the airbag light didn't even get an advisory! Usual nonsense about trays fitted obscuring components, but otherwise a Pass.

No advisory for an airbag warning light being on .. that's not right !
Yeah they can't moved under trays to check items ...

Must admit I was surprised too, especially as it has been an advisory before.
