Tonight's episode is about the Mini.
It's on Channel 4 at 8pm (Channel 4+1 at 9pm) and repeated on 4seven at 8pm tomorrow.

Did it not look like it was riding too high at the front?

The mk1 had rubber cones whereas the later Minis and Metros all had hydrogas which I'm sure was linked front to rear (self levelling) and if the balancing valve malfunctioned could cause the same characteristics.

Other way round. Early had hydro suspension.
It looked proper at the front, particularly as they will have just replaced the knuckles etc and redone the set up but the rear looked very low to me.

It looked like a pig to drive - or was that Glenisters fault??? I'd love to know how much they spent on the restoration though, it looked amazing, I want one now!!!

Cheers Ian, it certainly looked a bit uneven.

The uneven suspension was bugging me too at the end.

Watched in on 4OD but would you pay £28,500 for it? http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w214/rpn48/Smilies/eek.gif (http://s177.photobucket.com/user/rpn48/media/Smilies/eek.gif.html) That's what they reckon it's worth after all the work done.

In a word.... No To be fair tho I didn't think it was worth £9.5k as the unrestored car but maybe I'm just a bit out of touch with values if MK1's :)

I was having a look on Ebay and the likes yesterday, some Austin Minis are for sale for a small fortune (i.e. more than my RCZ!) and I wouldn't say they're anywhere near as well restored as the one in the program. Remember, these aul' Minis won't lose any money...... I reckon someone will snap their hands off for it (although I wasn't keen on the 1970s bathroom suite green'.......)

I mean look at this hideous thing .....I'm kinda drawn to my initials though!

Just caught up on the programme after missing it on Sunday. Turned out to be a nice car.

That car will easy be woth late £20k.

Almond green is probably the best colour for a mk1 after red.

Mini values for good as per original unmodified spec are going up and up.
My Cooper Sport 500 will prob overtake my Coutryman SD later this year as the Countryman bleads £ notes out the drive.
