Afternoon all. 8 month old Mini Cooper S owner from Aberdeenshire. The wife and I share this car and the other as we work for the same company, but her hours are different and we share the drop off and pick up of our daughter from nursery. I use the car to blast the back roads to work and for the occasional weekend town dash and general hooning about.
I came from 2 Audi S3's, both of which performed excellently in all conditions. Steering was a bit bland, but they reacted well to a bit of tinkering. I've popped a pic of the last of the S3's below.
The Mini is our small car to compliment the big beast. It's a great drive and handles really well. Looks and the pop and bang out the back. I did want to get a JCW, but the wife wasn't sure of the ride. It's already been back to the dealer 3 times for the creaking and scraping N/S rear brakes. They had the car out for test drives with and with out me, stripped them down numerous times, but they can't diagnose it. I'm assured it's safe to drive, so I'm hoping me or the wife don't end up in a ditch anytime soon.
Plans for this are new wheels, (already moving on the BBS RC's) and lowering to begin with. Only going to add the Mini spec JCW tuning coil springs, dampers and ARB's as they should sort out the cornering roll and lower the car enough cosmetically to get the look I'm after. All in it's about 10-12mm I think. Not looking for scene lows, just not driveable round my way like that.
So, to the pics....
The Mini:
4964
4965
The other car, the X5:
4966
The old S3:
4967
Thanks for looking and speak soon!
