Although the photos are of the plate on my Clio, the number is now on my R53 JCW.

My question is though, should I grow up and get full sized plates? and do these make it look like I hang around in car parks late at night with my car vibrating from an overly loud stereo (showing my age there with that terminology).

I recently decided to go full size plates as i felt the samw way.
Nice clio, epic wee cars, had a 172cup myself.

Cheers bry_mini, I'm thinking that way too.

Love your new all black 53.

Not a huge fan of tiny plates. Slightly shorter is cool though

John - as Davy will tell you also, you need to act your age....

Also I hear your cars been a bit sick.... Hope it's sorted soon :)

Due to the design of the front number plate frame on the R50 I'm full size at the front.

My rear however is short :yes nod:

They don't look as naff as plates with illegal spacing or a dodgy font.

Hopefully back to being a car I can drive rather than just look at in my garage

I've ripped the number plate holder off and sticky back taped (in a Blue Peteresque fashion) the number plate direct to the bumper

Short plates look ok to me if it really is a short number (i.e 2 or 3 digits) otherwise stick with a full size plate.

I'm not a big fan of short plates at all John. I think full size plates with the number centred looks better. Each to their own though and it's what you think that matters ...

I have shorter plates - only 5 letters/numbers, so I think it looks fine. I have never associated it with any particular 'automotive demographic', so that sort of thing doesn't come into it for me. Just looks neater! Anyway, I'm short and I've survived OK

I had shorter plates on my last car, I just got the place to slightly reduce the size of the letters and numbers and then trimmed it myself
