Heartbeat Tour 8th - 11th April 2015

Confirmed - Wed 8th April till Sat 11th April (3 Nights)

Going to organise a run through the Yorkshire moors and surrounding area with a visit to Goathland where Heartbeat was filmed, fish n chips at either Scarborough or Whitby and all the usual good banter.

This would be over the course of a weekend probably Saturday and back Monday or would people prefer Monday to Wednesday when roads would be quieter.

Let me know people's thoughts on dates.

Love it, the area is my second home. Been going to Scarborough for more years than care to remember. Love the Whitby Sandsend run I do over the moors and always come back via Goathland and Thornton-le-Dale. Did the Butter Tubbs on the road back home one of the years. The drive down Sutton bank through Thirsk and over the Dales to the Lake District is fantastic as well. Hartside summit is also great on the way down gets you off that main road although you will have 50-60 Motorbikes going past you.

2015 I'd be up for that.

Jude finishes school on the Friday 3rd for 2 weeks and I can take my holidays anytime so that would suit me but understand you can't please all re dates.

I guess the main question is do you want to do it over Easter or avoid - think Bank Holiday weekend is 4th April and will probably impact on availability and price of accommodation.

My kids are off the 2 weeks after but not sure when English holidays are

I'm happy to go with the flow but will need plenty of notice regarding dates .. I think it'd be better to avoid the bank holiday if possible as that lessens my chances of getting time off and also like Trigger has mentioned it'll be easier and cheaper for accommodation :)

Sounds great William.:thumbs up: When I'm in work tomorrow I'll mark those dates in the calendar - should really only need to book the Wednesday off. Just checked the tennis calendar and it looks like this will fall two weeks before the South of Scotland league starts too, so I won't miss any ties. Quite enjoying playing for Melrose Tennis Club. :yes nod:

However, the usual caveat's apply for us, work will ultimately determine if we can get the time away, and we are always a last minute decision away from not being able to go. Doesn't stop us planning and getting excited though. :thumbs up:

Right folks saw a place today and talked to the owners ,all is well and we have got a deal with them for the whole place at a discounted rate,we will have to send a deposit off to them so once we are home we will get this set up for folks to get money to us .we have to do this as a block booking for NMS to get discount. The place also has a restaurant and a drinks

I was there just the other weekend for an RCZ meet. Brilliant area for a meet.
I recommend a stop at The Lion Inn on Blakely Ridge, they have a huge field they can open up for you guys. We stayed in The Kings Head in Kirkby Moorside which was lovely.....sorry if any of this has been mentioned already :)

Right folks back home now ,the place that we are staying in ,we have got this years prices (and a discount) for next year, the rooms work out at £74 per night so if 2 nights £148 / 3nights £222 . Please note this is per room and not per person :yes nod:
We need to get the deposit down to the Grainary of £50 per room (which is non refundable) ,you can see us at tomorrow's run or the knockhill meet or send it to William via PayPal (as a gift)or cheque or cash ,this has to be in to us by the 26th of May ,still waiting to hear from some of the peeps on the list if they are still going and how many days,if the deposit is not into us by said date /or if we do not hear from you ,there is little we can do and you will have to find your own accomadation (but no rooms will be spare at the grainary only 14rooms and you will not receive discount price) we need to work out who is going so we know if any of the singles need to share (which would half their bill) please can you respond as soon as.:thumbs up:

The runs will be Thursday/fri,the problem we have is that you said nearly a month ago that you and Helen could not make this run,the people that we asked to share rooms (because of numbers) we gave them their own rooms as they were not to keen on sharing ( which is understandable) ,sorry but you did cancel.
