Best to give the wheel type, S Spokes etc, but, if the R56 has the JCW brakes then it's a defo no

Depends on what ones some have slightly smaller bolt holes like the mini lights Elfman used to have

Yes they will as I had s spokes fitted over the JCW brakes on my R53 which are the std brakes on an R56 ;)

What's the wheel size / offset on the inner spoke of the wheel ?

All OEM wheels are interchangeable between R53 and R56. What brakes you need them to fit over is the next question

All 17" Genuine mini alloys including your R85 s-spokes will fit over 1st Generation mini's including the JCW brake kit and all 2nd Generation mini's including the cooper s.

It is when the 2nd generation mini's have the JCW brake kit fitted the range of original mini 17" wheels that fit over these brakes are reduced to these I believe R97,R104,R108,R112,R114 the last one being a 5.5" width rim for winter tyres.
