So had another great Week up at Lochaber Lodges, in fact it was the big Man in shorts (AKA Craig) actual Lodge:smilewinkgrin:. That’s some Lodge Mr D, a real home from home and so comfortable and warm. I still cant for the life of me understand why it's Midge free with the Canal a mere few hundred yards but it is. I’ve Camped in Glen Nevis and it was a nightmare with the wee blighters. Love the sky at night when its clear to that of Glasgow with all its light pollution.

Anyway as not everyone is on book of face thought I’d share a few pic’s. Revisited some of the Roads from the third Highland Tour on Skye and even had dinner that night in our Plockton hotel we all like. Walked in and the owner remembered I was with the MINI crew. MINI Dealerships in Scotlad shoulds sell cars with a wee advisory note simply saying “ Please take this up to the Highlands!”

Cheers again Mr D, I’ll quietly emit after staying in the other smaller Lodges that with your one being that wee bit higher up you do get the better view although saying that its hard to beat from any of the lodges. I’d also be doing a “Wham” Last Christmas up there every year if it was my one.

When you get the Weather you can't beat Scotland :thumbs up:

I’m already missing going out at night with my Coffee and just going “Aaaaaaaaaaa” with the smell of the fresh air. But yeah Rob once you get off that A82 the traffic disapears and the road surfaces are fantastic to the usual Glasgow roads I'm used too. It's one of these places you leave thinking I cant wait to get back.

Great pics Stu and it does look like you had a great weather and a great time. We're back down to Yorkshire in a couple of weeks. Love it down there but we've been tempted a couple of times to do the North of Scotland. The risk of midges puts us off to be honest. They don't bother me but Lenore would come back bitten to hell-and-back.

Rob we were in Oban last Wednesday, Love the place as well. Not knocking Fort William but Oban is a lot nicer in my view as a town. I’ve never liked the front of Fort William when all it is, is the backs of Hotel and pubs. But for a base to explore from its spot on. The main street in FW even looks poor with a good few vacant shops. But Oban looked just its usual self.

Used to go holidays to Oban when I was young so that has a part to play much like as Andy was saying I love north Yorkshire as well more or less for the same reason. Family memories growing up going on holiday.

Great Pics Stewart! Love the scenery and the wee Mini next to the BIG MINI.

Just looking at those roads and that scenery - Beautiful Scotland indeed. I really must do another Road Trip, but between work and home commitments, it seems to get harder every year and the MINI & me are becoming more museum pieces than a FUN THINGS. Throw in a nasty eye infection or two and fast driving's right out of the question! Must get myself organised for next year! :yes nod:

Thats the kind of music I'll only put up with if free food is on the go:smilewinkgrin:

I tend to go through the Highlands blaring 80's or some of the better modern stuff that I can chill with for example. Although RunRig coming on as we drove over to skye was well timed :thumbs up: Big Country - In a Big Country always gets a play as well.

Put it this way Stewart, it's not on MY iPod... 'Highland Holiday Listening Music' for me is Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Floyd and lots of Folk stuff.

Ahhh, Big Country! My pal and I nearly died listening to a BC concert on the radio. Many years ago -

Scene" Ullapool campsite, Summer, Rain, Tent, Very old camping stove, (unnoticed) Perished rubber pipe, Match... WHOOSH! Fastest I ever moved. Casualties - eyebrows and the ends of my cut-off Levi's (that's how long ago it was). Lucky it was only the shorts that went up...
