Paul, forgive me for being thick/blind but where is the info for leaving from Duthie Park? Quite fancy going down to Arbroath if there is still space as not been on a run since i got my own mini. Were you the one up front on the Baxters run at the start of the year? If you were, i was with my pal Ash that day in her black mini. Cheers, Shaz

Is it a yes from you then?

Hello again all

Just to clear any confushion:p(he he!) We shall be leaving from Elliot Industrial Estate which is located above McDonalds/Focus. So instead of turning in the Focus Car park take the next left and follow the road until you see my MINI (V4 ONE) The Police escort will leave (if they are on time this year!!):I:I at 11:00am sharp. Russ Swift will begin as soon as we are parked up. If you are late phone me. I will PM my number to whoever requests it.
Thank you all again for your support - it wouldn't be a show without you:cool::cool:

Shoppie - remind the police this year not to stop the convoy half way through to let the traffic move!!!:mad:

The second half of the convoy got to the showground before the first half last year, because we didn't know the convoy route, and got split up by the highly intelligent copper at the traffic lights, who stopped us to let some 'normal' traffic go, and then when asked "where do we go now?" just shrugged his shoulders.........
:dead:

shoppie
28th June 2005, 09:10 PM
They've all been told the score!:D The convoy will not be split, all traffic will have to wait for us:p:p

Not long now... I'm getting a bit excited;);)

I used to regularly travel down south and enjoyed every minute of it, so, yes, i think you should travel, but, remeber that the Arbroath meet is just that, various little convoys are arranged for the meet at Arbroath. See the first page for links etc to explain the day better
However, it is a fantastic day (weather permitting) but, the very next day is the Cullen run with an overnight stop near Aviemore

Thanks Euan for the short cut, we managed to get out ok and KJ joined in too so we had our own wee convoy for leaving too!!! Didn't take to long either!! Police did a better job this year in keeping us altogether!!! I don't think I got the award for drowned rat (like i did last year) but if you saw me today I've definately won the award for Skelped face of the day!! As for Neil...points don't mean prizes but....(if I can work out how to do this) Prize does go to you for modelling mom and dad Fozzy's Convertable Cooper S!!!!! First mini run and enjoyed every minute of it. The convoy through Arbroath with the police escort was fab fun. Ash and i couldnt stop smiling along with beeping the horn and waving at people feeling like royalty, hee hee :D:p

Thanks to the organisers and everyone for being so friendly. Cant wait for the next mini adventure!

Hey Dave - sorry about that - we had a box of Meguiars goodies to dish out to the shiniest MINI but there were too many so looked for the dirtiest and you won i'm afraid:I Especially on the bird cr@p count!!:I:clown:. So you are now the winner of a pack of meguairs wash strips, an ultimate towel and bottle of quick detailer.

You have mail!:)

Thanks for all the comments peeps. Good to see some folks getting names to faces on Sat. For those of you who don't know me, I was one directing you onto the grass as you arrived:I:I I did come back to the stand to see you all when the Arrows were on but a few had left. "boo-hoo":p:p No - seriously, major thanks from us all once again for your efforts in making this event a raging success. The Dundee Courier are quoting 30,000 attendance and the Press and Journal 20,000, so we'll go for around 25,000:cool:. Locals reported it took 45 mins. to get home from the park by car!!
My wife June made it into both papers pictured hanging out of Russ's MINI waving to the crowds. She's not stopped grinning yet:D:D
My car also survived its appearance as Russ's 3rd vehicle - "phew"!!
My son Alan (who led you from the industial estate) and I got our reward as well with an aerobatic flight in the "Tiger" Puma round the town, finishing up with a 50ft, 140 MPH dash down the side of the cliffs
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Still no idea of how many MINIS we had??

again.....THANK YOU

Cheers Wul. Look forward to getting my dirty mitts (and dirtier mini) on those claning goodies.

I should also explain that the car is not usually that dirty and has since been cleaned. I was doing a camp for young people all week, so it was sitting doing nothing except aquiring birds crap. I then drove from pitlochry to arbroath at great spped and aquired the flies!

Hellooooo

Just wanted to say what a FAB weekend its been for me. All the travelling on fiday morn (6am ) and then getting to aberdeen at 2:30pm was definitly worth it! MANY MANY thanks to Martin Sullivan to sorting out accomodation and introducing me to most of you, youre all fantastic peeps and would but many southerners to shame :D
Took a few photos, there was soooo many minis i couldnt take much more on a tiny memory card :( Highlight for me on saturday was the ride in Martin Pages RALLY CAR !! wow how cool was that car, and the drive through the town certainly got some looks, im sure to say i will be up again next year  Well im shattered today but must plod on....left aberdeen at 1:40pm and didnt get home until 10:15pm because some numpty left a bag on the train at glasgow so we had to evacuate the train ASAP, also the police drove me from glasgow queen street to glasgow central ( i only asked for directions) ;) but other than that alls well !!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK NMS !!

:):D

I loved our minis (so cool, so shiny), the convoy (police escort!), the Tornado (full body vibration), and the Red Arrows (9 of 'em!) best (and I watched Russ Swift minis both times). I don't understand how anyone got sunburn though - I'm still white as a sheet ?!? Maybe I was in a slightly parallel universe. Most annoying thing was my camera died before I took more that three photos, so I'm dead jealous of all the cool pics here!

Thanks Howard, was nice to meet you (you caught me just as I was setting off home)

Howard, what a great day:cool:Many thanks to you and all the Arbroath organisers. 14 packs of smokies survived Cullen and have been distributed to the "chosen few" in North Berwick:p

Sioban's "chuck wagon" did a roaring trade. Gives a whole new meaning to " loaves and fishes"

Jason, Lesley, remember "oor Nellie" was once the same size as Kerr;) look what happened to him (see pics):evil:

Fiona was right with 55 cars. Did we get a mention in the Sunday Post? Hope I didn't scare the young reporter off. I thought she said Sunday Sport....hee hee!!:clown::I

Here's to next year.:D:D:D
