These are Burple's 'old' (but lovely) wheels which were on his PW JCW and his previous MINI.
I think they're ROTAs, but he'll tell you himself when he clocks this thread!

He's still got them I think...

YOU BEAT ME TO IT WHILE I WAS GETTING THE PHOTO ALI!!!! :ragin:

I don't think his wheels are/were Rota's, although the Rota RB is a very similar design

Nope... close.. they look very like Rota RBs.. but they're not. They're actually League 156 wheels, and as far as I know have been out of production for about 6 years or so - which i found out when trying to get replacement centre caps and bolt inserts for the rims.
Closest thing to them now would be Rota RBs I think :thumbs up:

Still have them, and I'm trying to decide if there's anything I can do to them to make them suit the Black and red JCW ;)

Ahhh, I thought they might be an older Rota design, but I knew they weren't RB's, as the RB's are even more 'MINILITE' stylee, with chunkier spokes.
I really wanted RB's for my PW but they wouldn't clear the 4-Pots

Here's the smashin' ROTA RB to drool over... :drools:

If I had a nice wee COOPER with the smaller brakes, I'd have these on it in a heartbeat as I think it would look FAB  :thumbs up:
Or perhaps on a BRG Clubvan with some retro 'COOPER GARAGES' signage on the side...

Sure these will clear brembos in the right offset, a JCW Clubby has these fitted - maybe a 5mm spacer needed

Interesting Mon. Do you have any futher info/photos of afforementioned Clubby? I was told by a couple of suppliers (Rare Rims - who specialise in ROTA stuff - might have been one of them) that they wouldn't fit with the Brembos. I reckoned the RB had too much of a 'dish' and I'm not too keen on using spacers either...

Just found this thread from USA... must study!
http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/factory-jcw-talk-2009/205298-rota-rb-looking-for-someone-with-rbs-and-jcw-brakes.html

Seems to be no clear answer - though a 15mm spacer def clears the brakes. Also depends on other factors like suspension, tyres etc. To be honest, I'll stick with my Crown Spokes for now, and if I decide to swap rims, I'd go for ROTA BLITZ or poss. OZ Ultraleggeras.

Funny, I know they're ROTAs, but these actually look more like Burple's wheels than chunky RB's... They do look nice tho!

The ones in your pic look like 16".. the ones on the car look like 17".. could that be the difference? Or the darker spokes will make them look thinner maybe..

I actually considered these OZ's as they were so different from the 'usual suspects', but couldn't work out whether they'd do the trick. They maybe look a tad small on the R56 compared to, say, a Rota Blitz, just by the way the spokes stop quite short of the rim - interesting pic tho... Hmmm.

I think you're right Re the 16" v 17" Rota RB's - the larger the wheel, the more 'elongated' the spoke, so you actually lose that classic 'chunkiness' on the 17.

That's pretty much identical to what I would do,, Black out the beltline as well, and darker wheels (still love the Rota Blitz too).. might even chuck on the carbon mirrors too :D:thumbs up:

i tried to get rb's for my cooper but there were totally out of stock in 16's and 17's and they couldn't give me a date on when they would be back in stock so i ended up getting the rota gt3's :( i would of waited for the rb's but i really need to get new rims grr

but the gt3's still look good

Rbs look quality. Check over on mini torque a few are running them in 17" I think. I considered these plus I'm not sure but check ultralite I think they do a set similar in 17 or 18" I can't remember
