Recall/Coolant Sensor!!!

Just booked my Camden S in for a TLC service and was told that there is a recall for the Coolant Temperature Sensor to be replaced which they will carry out at the time.
I read the post by Tam1314 on this issue, however, what I don't understand is that why there wasn't any recall letter or notice from BMW in the first place? :ragin:

Yeah Stan, I got a phone call from my dealer as not a letter. Maybe this is the way they are going now and if so it's a failing with your dealer..

Take it this is cars only in Warranty? Or can you come at if from it’s a known fault and its covered no matter the age?

Think it's for the newer cars Stewart 10 plate onwards.. Best check with your dealer tho..

I got a call about 3 months ago - usual excellent service from Peter Vardy.

I believe it is only for cars built for a certain period of time. Mine was built dec 2011.
