For those who frequent TM as well as NMS, I thought I'd share a Facebook post from TM explaining the down-time.

Time for them to shift hosting provider methinks.

===================

Dear totalMINI members,
as many of you are already aware, totalMINI.com has been offline for the past 2 days. This is due to a hardware failure at our hosting provider.

Unfortunately the server that the totalMINI site is hosted on has suffered catastrophic data loss and, due to reasons outside of our control, the hosting provider cannot provide a recent backup.

We are working to restore a version of the site from an old backup that we do have access to, but we cannot confirm at this time when totalMINI will be back online.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience and support. We will continue to update you via our Facebook page.

Regards
The totalMINI Team

I always took backups myself at least weekly on NM as a precaution.

I wonder how many days/weeks of posts will be lost?

Can only hope they can get back up and running very soon, they've put a lot of work into their forum front end

Where will the count to 10,000 be put back to?

Is someone still counting whilst the site is down?

I'm sure the authorities will have been informed, I expect Cobra will be meeting later today to discuss the count. Perhaps Dave will make an announcement later today from Downing Street.

I just hope they haven't given it to Osbourne or Clegg to look after, counting so high is beyond their capabilities.

Someone decides that they should count to a number, say 30,000. Each person then posts the next number in the sequence. It's massively exciting.

Don't get me wrong, TM does have its uses. But it can also feel like some kind of holding hands circle jerk

I tend to dip in and out of TM and like you said Mon, more for information than anything. I did try posting but found that unless you were on it at least twice a day it was hard to keep up and as a newbie if you posted, very rarely did anyone pay attention to you! Hence why I prefer NMS.

Has anyone heard an update on what is happening with TM? Seems to be a real serious problem for them.

 yep! I was on for a couple of years, posted fairly regularly and occasionally gained something - but got really weary of some aforementioned circles! In fact I took a break just around when it went down.....
I loved the counting threads they were my favourite :stamp:
Anyway my fave pal on there is our Mark...and he's also on facebook :thumbs up:

to answer you question Malcolm, they appear to be close to a re-launch. Not sure if they managed to get back any of the old data tho.... last I heard, they had lost most if not all data, That may have changed tho.
