So punters are finding it hard to understand the MINI line up and identify them. Join the Club!
First option on the MINI tick box for me would be Model deletion!
MINI
Starting with March production the Countryman will follow the Paceman and become the second MINI to actually have its model name on it. According to those familiar with the situation, MINI is bowing to market research that has shown how people don’t understand the differences between the MINI models. The change is especially important now, as MINI prepares to unleash the Paceman on the world.
Is it just me or is it sad that they have to plaster the back with the car model as the cars are morphing into each other. Apart from the All4 I still don’t get this car. Its like saying its for people who want a more sportier Countryman version but not the Hatch if I’m not wrong…

If only I had the money, then I would snap this up in a heart beat, if there are any multi-millionaires out there who feel like doing an extremely good deed and would not miss the money for it, then please PM me

It's very nice but would have to lose the green in place for red :)

Nah, not for me really, JCW or not, I've seen much nicer 'ordinary' Countrymen (on NMS).
Plus the fact it has VERY little in common with the actual Dakar cars, which as far as I know, are all purpose-built competition stylee off-roaders. So I might be being a bit harsh, but it just looks a bit like a "Sticker Special" to me. BTW is it Matt Black, or just needing a buffing from Mr. King?

What a flippin' mish-mash! It's like a 5 year-old was let loose with a sticker sheet... :frown: It would be better with NONE :yes nod:
...and a more 'Off Road Competition' wheel design - these are much more 'Urban' than 'Turban'!

I dont like the new badging on the Countryman and Paceman just looks tacky. The Dakar special is quite nice with only 11 cars but sadly only for France

Nah, not a fan here to be honest, as elfman pointed out, i've seen far nicer ones specced well by their owners.

Not a fan of the model name on the back. Looks like someone has gone into halfrauds and bought those generic letters you see on the back of Golf GTI's and Clio Sports that are clearly not GTI's or Sports!

Nice one Stewart :thumbs up:
Dakar cars are all space frame. I think the first Mini Dakar was the same frame / car that won the year before as a Freelander. Just can't get a positive thought about the Countryman. Look at the top cars that were out on Sunday including Andy / Lenore's new car, a Countryman would never look that good. I always thought that "all 4" would be good, but after the way the GP2 left the Audi standing in recent test, I'll stick with a Works Hatch / Clubman anytime.
All just my opinion of course.

Reminds me of when Rover decided to have the model name emblazoned on the back of their vehicles, before the Phoenix Group finally busted the British icon.

  brilliant ;)
I like the colours together but I don't like the arrangement of stripes. Never been that big a fan of vipers. The lettering doesn't bother me, although it could be a bit smaller.

This car is only being built (or liveried up) to celebrate the 2012 and 2013 victories that Stephan Peterhansel had in the Dakar rally in both those years (so hes 2 for 2 so far ) and its not meant to be an exact replica of his actual vehicle :hand:
I like everything about this car EXCEPT those ugly countryman letters on the boot and the fact as William said that it is a French market only vehicle  ...what about the rest of us Dakar Rally fans :frown:
