View Full Version : New Mini owner (well the wife) in Aberdeenshire

Hello folks.

The wife collected her 62 plate Pure Red Mini Cooper Countryman SD All4 last night so I thought I'd join up here to get some more info on all things Mini, as the wife isn't a forum kind of person.

Already trying to test the water with her mod wise - mainly cosmetic at the moment. I own a Mk5 Golf GTI myself so no stranger to that particular slippery slope.

Will post some pics up at the weekend when I will hopefully be able to give it a good detail and get rid of the Supaguard etc!

Cheers

Garry

Thanks folks. Will get the spec list updated tonight. Few optional extras (car was already in the show room).

Does anyone have any experience of removing the supaguard protection? Assuming a decontamination detail will be required as a minimum?

Superguard will wash off with some all purpose cleaner or even some washing up liquid as it contains degreasers.
to be fair superguard and all these other dealer sold products wash off in a couple months with just normal shampoo as they are a complete waste of time. Far better of with a quality carnuba wax after preparing the paint properly.

Welcome to NMS.

Thanks Ian. Will just stick to washing it and giving it a coat of sealant (Auto Finesse Tough Coat) in the meantime.

Alan, sounds like inviting Gary to join the "manky club" might be a waste of time
