Car identification

Hi

Mini new guy here, so how do i identify if my Mini is an R50,R53 or R56 etc?
What years did the particular models run?
Mine is 2003, 53 registration Cooper S.

The R50 is a first gen cooper/one

The R56 is 2nd gen cooper S
