Dammit i'm working so I'll have to catch a repeat later in the week hopefully :ragin: (only got basic Virgin and no V+ or Tivo so cant record it)

Interesting that some of the staff appeared to have been there since the days when the original factory produced the Morris Marina, certainly explains a lot of the qc issues, particularly with the early R50s......

Well I caught the midnight repeat showing, was ok I guess... :idunno:

I'm pretty sure the engines weren't assembled at the Oxford factory, or at least I dont remember seeing them being built when we were there a few months ago :scratch:

Don't think I have access to the right channel so didn't go hunting :sad: Zimbo I'm sure you're right re the engines, seem to remember they were brought in from creation elsewhere

I thought the programme was pretty good.

Interesting to see how the Coupe's put together, and a reminder of how complex the MINI build process is. Clever stuff. Didn't know they had a wee racing team hidden away in the factory - would be worth a look for future "Mothership" visits...

BTW, the engines are built at Hams Hall in Birmingham and brought in. I might be mistaken, but the front end 'unit' with the bumper/lights etc might be assembled 'off site' too.
