maybes are usually listed anyway  and thus counted in. You know that! :P I was trying to simplify things for you but here is the full version ;)

I meant likely. 85% yes, 15% no. Vague possibility of being in Aberdeen but it's not that likely. This one is perfect for me. It's short, doesn't start at the crack of dawn, involves food, and my friend has asked if she can come with her mini-mad wee boy. All the encouragement I've received to do a run for the last year has been getting me closer to it all the time thanks to all of you :yes nod: A short one is perfect for me for my first one. I've finally got over my 'I'm too slow' inadequacy and will pootle away at the back without caring now that I've met quite a few folk! Plus it's not snowy (well there's still time). Plus I love (miss) the east coast. And Liam is buying the chips.

Should be a good run

ELFMAN
30th July 2012, 12:07 AM
Just back 'on site' after being unofficial All-Scotland Tour Guide for my pal and his wife from Norwich!

Please put me down for this one - I might be on hol sometime in August, but should be OK. Plus the fact there's CHIPS and a Special Appearance by Big Gordy - we've usually got more chance of Dani Sordo turning up in his WRC motor... being towed by talking unicorns.

MINIme:)
30th July 2012, 01:28 AM
:excited: If there's talking unicorns I am absolutely a 100% yes ,

:off topic: My Mum and Dad actually took me to the Doctor when I was young (well, the Medicine Man from our cave system...), because I wouldn't go to sleep, despite thousands of stories etc. I have vague recollections of words like "Child of the Night", "Vampire Death Cult" and "Incurable Psychopathic Disorder". No idea what the fuss was about. Right, off to feed the wolves.

Was at the famous Anstruther chippie last night as it happens and it was great :thumbs up:
Spoke to the girl in charge about pre-booking 30 fish suppers but she can't :frown: All her friers are working flat out as it is so she has no extra capacity. She did say if I gave her a phone before hand with the numbers she could do a deal on the price tho  Think it would need to be carry-out tho as the sit in bit would struggle to accommodate us all in one sitting :p I can post up the menu on Monday when I get back to work and have access to a scanner.

Ohh and has anyone worked out a route yet for where were going..??

Can I make a suggestion that we park at the tennis courts up at the park and walk down to the chippy. Its a 10 min walk...max.
As you come into Anstruther, instead of turning right at the roundabout to head down to the front, carry straight on for about 100 yard and the tennis court/park car park is first on your right. Like I said, just a suggestion as the car parks down on the front are usually packed on a Sunday:smilewinkgrin:

Is there any chance the directions could be made tripometer friendly? (as per http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/dstewart1967/pdf/Perthshire%20Run%202012.pdf ) ie a running total of miles rather than some sections having distances and some bits without? Maybe you don't have time to do a full recce now though.
I'm unlikely to have the benefit of someone to follow! but be trailing miles behind on my lonesome getting lost  ;)

Stew you had some method of getting run notes onto a sat nav didn't you? Otherwise I need to get this onto paper including the bit that changed. And then I need someone with a printer to print it off for me!

Stoney..... the western convoy won't be the same without your behind to follow. And I thought you might enjoy following me on another super slow petrol saving scenery enjoying run as well. You seemed to love it last time :excited: :sadangel:

was looking forward to it but GP is sounding like a tractor the now :( costing to much to fix TBH so put that in with having to get the corsa fixed as well it one hefty bill the now but it will give me some time to sort a few other things out that i have on at the mo as well

Guys really sorry but going to have to pull out of this due to having to get my manifold fixed and a few other thing going on at the same time :( was really looking forward to it as well :( Have a brill day and I want to see lots of pics ;)

That's a bummer Rob!
What's up with the manifold? Was it caused by racing Maseratis? Remember I have a passenger seat if you can make it without the GP.

Just thinking, without Stoney to follow, I'll never find the bleedin' start! :argh:

Right Joanna - you have SatNav, meet me somewhere! :thumbs up:

that's a shame. I know what you mean about costs. Far too many costs! I am awaiting an electrician bill for the two days work already done, to be able to hazard a guess at how much the further 4-5 days are going to cost me :( all in I think about a grand or more anyway. :(( chimney sweep got 250 yest as well. it's a nightmare!

Yes, meet at that Hotel near Bellshill where Stoney and I met you previously? Oh dear, that doesn't sound right...
Will sort a time. Probably take about an hour to get to the start from there?

STEWART is coming along as my 'Co-Pilot' - Stoney can't make it, even without the GP.

can the instructions also be clarified for coming into anstruther. I dont know the area at all. Where in the directions given does it change? and Stew if you're out there, how do I translate the instructions into sat nav? you had some tool for it i think. I thought the 'Meet' was 11.30am. Says that on page 1...

I've planned on being there for that time, which means meeting Stewart at mine just before 10am (and probably Jo slightly later on the way), so need to confirm when the 'MEET' is and when the 'DEPART' is too. If we're LEAVING Queensferry for the run at 11.30am, I'll need to leave home earlier. Please confirm.

Joanna this may help you will your question if you put the postcode of this address in your satnav it will locate you to the carpark where we will be parking in Anstruther for lunch
Anstruther Tennis club
Bankie Park Pavilion, Crail Road
ANSTRUTHER, KY10 3EL

- - - Updated - - -

but when you come into Anstruther via the pittenweem road which we are driving one there is a white hotel on your right hand side called the crawsnest you drive past this hotel for about 600 yards and you will come upto a sharp left hand corner and drive 200 yards you will come upto a mini roundabout with 3 exits drive straight ahead and 200 yards past the mini roundabout on your right side is the tennis car park where we will be parking and from here it is a 2 minute walk to the chip shop

- - - Updated - - -

we are parking here as the harbour where the chippy is lacks parking spaces

:thumbs up: Well done today Liam for getting us all out of the house and 'On the Road Again'(there's a song in there somewhere...), though it's the first run I've been on which actually had a "Multiple Choice" route! Still, we all got there in the end.
A fine day out with excellent company/banter, matched only by fab fish and chips  There was even a Puppet Show at Anstruther, which included 'Goofy' and a Tramp dancing to Status Quo. You just can't keep Craig and Big Gordy still when the Quo are on... :frown:

By the way, thanks for nicking my navigator Duncan! (Stewart ran off to get a shot in the wee 'Italian Job' classic). All was forgiven when Stew bought me a fish supper! We made it back to Larkhall - which is quite something considering our combined navigational rubbishness. Don't know if Stewart found his way home though...

Car washed, dried and put to bed, which is more than you can say for me

I don't blame you, it WAS too good an opportunity to miss for a shot in a 'proper' Mini. Not often you get a chance to directly compare the change in technology etc which a few decades bring - and the best bit is as you said, they're both great FUN! Once a Mini, always a MINI
