Why not take it to a dealer for a trade-in valuation. They generally go by Model and packs and to hell with your other added spec, so I found!
How much did you pay for it yourself?

Doesnt matter what he paid for it as cars are dropping £300 a month in the guide.

Everything seems to be selling way under book at the moment.
If you want to sell it quick then put it in at the bottom of the price.
Go onto autotrader and see what private sale cars same age and miles etc are going for then take into account that they wont actually get the asking price.

.. lucky someone is paying attention!

trying to decided if i should just put it on for say £8500 and just see how it goes, not in too much of a rush to sell but obviously the longer you wait, the more you depreciate..

is £8.5k too much?

Depends on how keen you are to sell. I have to be honest and say I'm not well up on prices - I haven't researched it. I'd maybe try £8K, but remember there are a lot of 'pre-owned' MINIs around these days...Mr. King's probably your man for up-to-date prices!

Everything seems to be selling way under book at the moment.

Except MINIs at auction, unless you think £6200 for an 85k S on a 08 or £5400 for a 35k Cooper (Chili) on an 06 with no test is cheap.

A clean MINI in the right colour/spec with a good story will always do well through the ring. Most seem to be heading down south though, although I could point the op in the direction of a few potential buyers up here., if required.

I bagged a 52 plate cooper chilli with pan roof on 78k for £2550 at the auction last month.
Must depend which auctions and who is bidding.

Yes Minis still hold well but not nearly as well as they used to.

A tidy enough mini one 02 plate with salt and 17s went through the other week and only finished at £1700 although it did have 98k on it.

Stuff is a lot cheaper over your way then! How does £950 grab you for a faded red 1.0 02 Corsa with 80k on it, mo oil or water in it, a quarter painted with an aerosol and the door mirror cover made from a sheet of glass-fibre - trade buyer too lol

My god that's mental. If it was really clean with a new mot then best I could sell that for would be about £1000.

I recently bought a lovely 51 corsa elegance with FSH and 10 months mot on it for £775 out the door at the auction. Got it cheap as it was that funny metalic pink colour and it was pretty much the last car of the night. Edinburgh auctions must be cheaper then

Mind you, Vauxhalls aren't popular with everyone over here, especially the valeters lol

Retail on that is at best £4995. Where is his margin after its prepped and warrantied.

You'd think they'd check the service book before guaranteeing a low mileage lol

Are you a buyer then for a dealer Mr Minisnaps or do you just like loitering at auction houses

They keep me off the streets and usually have free food for the trade ;)

The free food is about the only way to make a profit out of them nowadays lol

I usually get my dinner at the Auction one night a week and if its the right woman on the counter that recognises me and my mate we get it for free.
Get a nice chicken curry or mince and taties.

(a bit off topic I know)
