Well, another typical convoy around Monaco.

Obviously the history and the aura of the place is without question, but, from a paying fans point of view it's the worst race on the calendar.
Unless you simply enjoy cars nose to tail and just like the noise and spectacle etc

It's a fair old snore these days. Only excitement was around the pit stops and they only did one of them. Qualifying on the other hand was superb.

The cars are too big for that place now.

There is a piece on James Allens site about how F1 used to do all their business in Monaco, but now it's all done in Singapore as it's not seen as flash as going to Monaco. At some point, it'll end up being dropped...

I doubt very much that this race will ever be done away with, 1st thing most people think of when you mention Formula 1 is Monaco or is it just me?

As far as I recall, it is the only race that doesn't actually have to pay for hosting it, so you may well be right.

Yeah, it's always the same around Monaco, I mean on a normal track, JB would of dispatched of Hekki not long after coming out behind him, but in Monaco unless you pass someone in the pits then its a rarity. I was watching old races from the 70's and noticed how back then when you came out of the tunnel, the chicane was much less pronounced and allowed for over taking at the end of the mini straight before entering the swimming pool complex. I know its probably there for safety reasons but surely if that kink was done away with we'd see much more overtaking. As it is, I very much doubt we'll ever see Monaco removed from the calender but bring on Canada, one of my favourite tracks and always throws up some good racing...doubt it will be beat last year for pure adrenaline though :(
