;) Oh, you'd be amazed what I could do with a tree :yes nod:
The car washing 'issue' is not lack of effort (well not entirely ;) ) but that I live in a 3rd floor flat and therefore also have never invested in any products or equipment  or have any plan to acquire them until I have better facilities - like a driveway! Then I will get proper training in 'the way' from 'the master'.
However, radical things may be afoot. Radical I tell you. Things have been quite frankly awful enough recently to tip me into survive or die mode so big changes are being considered, which would aim to include acquisition of a driveway - so let's see if I can get things to work out! (July might be ambitious mind, but time will tell!)

Added. Sorry for the late update. I still haven't been sent the application form. I believe that it is £10 for car and driver and £15 for anyone else in the car. I will confirm when I have been sent the applcation form. So far we have 7 cars which is fantastic

is that effectively £10 for an 'exhibitor' (including their car) and £15 for a 'visitor' then?
is it inside/outside?

Yehp that's pretty much what I said. The show is both indoor and outdoor. We have always usually had outdoor and I hope it stays that way. As I have been indoor with MLR before and it's horrible due to the music blaring.

So.....the general gist (correct me if I'm wrong but I think I'm grasping it) we stand in a field, looking unfeasibly hot, wearing gold hot pants, eyeliner, (can I do a glitter bikini top and 6" heels as well? You can join me if you like) and draping ourselves across our shiny car bonnets?
Size small on the hotpants please ;)
What happens if it :rain::snow: ? still draping? I imagine I can drape successfully in the rain.
I draw the line at lightning though, lightning scares me :whiteflag:

Joanna as Stoney has said aslong as the car is still fairly clean then just a wipe down with some detailing spray if not then bring some washing stuff with you and we can wash the car there. I would hopefully hope that we don't have to wash it.

Cheers William, G3 ELF and I loved every mile! :motoring: :excited:
Didn't treat it as an 'economy run' (ie much thrashing was had), but still got around 33mpg, which was OK. Could've probably added another 10+ MPG by taking it easier, but hey, where's the fun in that? Car going (and sounding) better than ever now that it's got a few more miles on good roads under its bonnet. :thumbs up:
The stuff's in the Pug's boot just now - had to make room for holiday food etc! Will transfer back to MINI tomorrow so I don't forget.

William, sorry I couldn't resist.... read in you spec that you now have a "JCW CarbonFibre Boot Handel". I always new your car was a classic, but surely that's taking things too far - it'll kill the aerodynamics too. And to think we used to have to be satisfied with a JCW Sound Kit... Mom was thinking about a "mass picnic", what do you all think? Do we want to take the portable BBQ and have some burger / steak rolls, a bit like Rob's pinic run?
Is Christine up for baking a big sticky toffee pudding? I'm sure we could organise who brings what, so we have a good spread.
Or maybe everyone will just want to do thier own thing.......any thoughts?

Just a wee thought - are there any rules and regs at the Car Show Re. hot stuff like BBQ's etc?
It's fine on, say, Stoney's Picnic Run, as it's only us involved and it's not within someone else's organised event. Would there be any liability issues if a member of the public was burned, or anything else untoward happened as a result of 'NMS BBQ Activities'. Not meaning to be a party-pooper, but it's better to flag these things up now rather than be wise after the event.

No probs William, wasn't sure what the procedure was for the show. If it's been OK previously and there have been no "Must Nots" issued by organisers, then that's cool.

Don't panic Cpt Mannering......Mom will think about food tonight and will suggest who needs to bring what, assuming everyone is OK with that? Or does anyone want to do their own thing?
Elfman I suggested you could clean up your "rammakins" and do some souffles!!
William are there still 14 people coming?
Re BBQ, Mom's suggestion is that she will bring enough rolls for everyone and will buy enough steak / burgers ( like we had at Stoney's Picnic Run) to fill them. If the weather is "crap" she will freeze the steak / burgers (for us at a later date) and bring a selection of cold meats instead. We can use our little gas Barbie, the one that we use at SPR.
If Rob (Christine) could do a Sticky Toffee Pudding and bring some cream that would solve the afters. Mom will bring the usual tea coffee milk etc. then it's just a case of salads, nibbles, crisps. Have I missed anything?

Just reminded t'other night of the dangers of Portable BBQ's and Carbon Monoxide emissions after they're out - so remember not to stick the used ones in your car or you might not make it home... I seem to be getting very safety conscious, or am I turning into a worrying old f@rt?

Mom has now informed me of what we are bringing. Steak, burgers, sausages, bacon, rolls to put them all in, and some of her home made dips, potatoe salad, and a possible pud. I think mom is thinking, maybe some bacon, sausage rolls, Pino Gregio for breakfast or a cup of tea while we set up, and the rest for lunch. We will also bring the BBQ. Plates, bowls, napkins and cutlery, all of which can be disposed of at the end of the day, no point in making washing up. Joanna if you could bring a mixed salad, as that would be to complicated for the boys. If someone could do some coleslaw and bring ketchup, mustard and brown sauce. Elfman, could you do coke etc, even you can't spoil that!! Drinks I mean, not the other sort. Someone else could do nibbles crisps etc. How about cheese and biscuits with grapes of course. Rob is bringing a glorious sticky toffee Pudding, how about another pudding? a cheese cake anyone? Biscuits or cakes for afternoon tea? And anything else people may have a fancy for. If you could also bring your own cups and seats as mom is not sure she has enough for everyone. Does anyone have a folding table as I only have a little one....story of my life...lol.

Car hoovered at last, hair cut (that took all of 10mins and half of that was a chat with the barber aboout intercoolers), shower grouted (not for the car show). Looking forward to the show - if we can get the crumpet fragments and blood off the ceiling...

Great day out, semi-decent weather and top-notch company and grub made the day... Oh and there were some nice cars there too.
Thanks to William for the Special Organisation, Mum and Dad for a glorious BBQ (tho' £5.50 for a steak roll was a BIT cheeky) and not forgetting Mrs Cuddles for her fab cake selection. Many thanks to Daryl for loan of the Gazebo - it saved the day when the rain arrived! I just realised I didn't get any of Stoney's/Christine's famous Sticky Toffee Pudding - mainly because I was so full by then I would've been sick. Dad will be well chuffed that his crumpets literally went down well, I'll tell him when he comes out of post-baking therapy.
Nice to meet the New Faces (we were ALL new faces once...) and to remind myself that it's the people as much (if not more) than the cars that float the ELF Boat.
Only problem I have now is that due to lack of sun cream and my vanity in not wearing my silly hat, I now have a head whose temperature is roughly equivalent to the surface of the sun and capable of melting at least one Polar ice cap. I'm in for an uncomfortable night... Still, it was worth it, or it will be once I stop screaming.

I went to something similar a few years back with friends and I’d have been there more for the NMS chat over the cars. I’m sure there were some tasty bits of automotive porn but I prefer classic cars over modified everyday street cars. I’m the one that looks at the lowered new Scirocco with 20 inch alloys and sub woofers coming from all angles and Chipped and body kit and to be brutally honest it does nothing for me. Give me a nice 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII any day….I’ll get ma Coat! loved the thing at Knockhill a few years back.

Have to agree with you on the Classic Vs "Max Power" stuff Stewart. There were a few nice cars there yesterday though, and the power of some of the 'Drift' cars was quite something, but a few "Halfords Horrors" too! I was at the Knockhill Classic Speedfair in '06 when Jackie Stewart, one of my heroes, took his Tyrrell GP car for a few laps - pure magic. I even got his autograph. He apparently got it in the neck from his wife for going too fast!!! Made my day though (and probably his too).

Quite right William. It was great just to have a get-together, a blether, a laugh and a damn good feed to top it off! Showing the cars and seeing the other motors on show was interesting, but, for me, not the main event - that was simply enjoying the company.
BTW my glowing bonce is now slightly less visible... from space, and is down to a temperature of only 360 degrees. I'd advise everybody to get shares in Savlon, as I'm using it in industrial quantities and I won't be the only numpty who got caught out by the sun!
