weekend fun

This is my kinda thing....what to do of a weekend? Smash your hand through not one but TWO 15mil thick, solid wood boards ;)

(Not to, like, blow my own trumpet too much , but I was the only person out of 29 who took on two boards at once - go me!:whoohoo:)

I will need to await tech assistance....The link in your first post is unreadable to normal members, when i edit the post to get to the text you have set the link up as an image, video and an url, so, this will not allow any user to click on it.
When i strip out the video section it directs me to a private album that needs a pasword, which, no one except you will have, so, again, no one can view it anyway.
You need to make the album open to people and select the correct url (link) to it

Also, photobucket has a great help section (http://support.photobucket.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41)

Fix it a little bit for you Jo. At least now folk can see the static image, albeit no video.:thumbs up:

Besides, I thought you were into furniture repair/design?? Surely you need to decide what you think of wood. You hate it and want to smash it up, or you love it and want to restore it.

Edit: I fear this is going to be a big let down when it eventually works....

I can see the video Joanna. Very good! Promise me you're not going to nick my Werther's Originals in the playground?
Anyway, I practice the ancient Lanarkshire Martial Art of 'Eejit Kune Do' :ragin: :argh: :dizzy: :thud:('the Way of the Empty Head')
The great Bruce Lee said "Be like Water" - I'm more "Be like Real Ale")

Still searching for true enlightenment Joanna, I believe it may be found in the foothills near the Temple of Broughton... in an ancient elixir known as 'Old Jock'

hmmm, Mark I'm not sure an ability to smash stuff into pieces forms an appropriate prerequisite to removing bits of my baby and then adding new bits successfully!

kind of extremely particular about who I WOULD let do it too! I wouldn't let myself near it.
come over for a visit to glasgow and do mine at the same time as yours! ;)

I remember years ago at the height of the 'Kung Fu' craze (probably mid 70s? - I was still quite young though!), my pal and I used to regularly take on medium to large pieces of wood (bakers' bread boards were a favourite due to their relatively flimsy construction and excellent 'splinterability').

I loved Bruce Lee films, the 'Kung Fu' series (which Lee SHOULD have starred in, but the US TV moguls reckoned he was too... Chinese!) and Chuck Norris (6 times Karate World Champ - before his films became madly Right-Wing), got books from the library (remember doing that?) and was really into the whole 'scene'. I regret not having followed up my interest in a more 'structured' manner, as I'd probably be much fitter and calmer if I had... :yes nod:

It all fell apart when I discovered how fast I could go on my 10 Speed Racing Bike, then how much faster I could go in my Mum's '78 Clubbie Estate...

ah well I've now done a board break, a double board break, a firewalk and an arrow break (arrow on your throat). So I can point you to people if you fancy it! ;)

I've done 'Bored' and 'Heartbreak' if that counts!
Some of your stuff ("arrow on your throat") sounds more like Medieval Torture than Martial Arts... :yes nod: The most dangerous thing I do these days (outwith MINI) is to eat food with a slightly higher salt content... :frown:
