hey
i have caught the modding bug already and i have bought a set of 4 spotlight/driving lamps for my mini one
i have now received this and it comes with 4 brackets now is it unnecessary to drill through my bonnet to fit these or are there any other ways to fit these
any advice from anyone that has fitted spotlights them self would be much appreciated as i don't really want to drill through my bonnet if i don't need to
thanks
Corey

You dont need to drill through the bonnet, the brackets should be able to pass through the grille, the brackets should be connected to the supports under the bonnet, probably best to look at someone's car who has spots fitted to understand what i mean :thumbs up:
This method puts the inner 2 spots slightly out of line, it didn't put me off when i had 4 fitted.
Alternatively you could get a 4 spot bar

Is the car an R53 or an R56? Set up is totally different for the 2 models. I have just fitted 4 to an R56 today and it needs a bit of DIY to do it. The R53 is much easier. The only complicated bit is wiring it into the system, if there are no spots on the car already.

Is the car an R53 or an R56?sure his profile says 2005, therefore it's not an R56

Ok will try and find some old pictures of how its done, which may help. Think it is all "rivited" to the grille. Watch this space.

You can splice into the main beam wire to help

I fitted them to my R50 a few years back. Your more than welcome to pop down to stirling if you need a hand.

The pictures I've found are of "Marsha" which was a 2003 S.

They were fixed on by rivits to the under side of the bonnett and grille. To fix the inside spots it was a case of reversing the brackets arround....I hope that makes sense!!
We used similar fittings on Black Betty which was 2004 S convertible.
4 spots from outside

2 left hand spots from outside

2 left hand spots from inside

Middle spots from inside

Just another thought on reading thread again. I didn't splice into main beam, I got them wired into a connection which was on the inside of the "A" post on the driver's side. I got help on this bit, as i did with the riviting.
