View Full Version : The Chip Butty Quest 21/08 - Check the list

The Dogfather
3rd August 2004, 08:35 PM
Following the success of last nights 'mini mini run' I thought I'd jump in with an idea for the next one.

First dates, as not to clash with Julz Harvest Run how about 21st August?

The plan is to meet up at a venue in Milltimber - I was thinking of the Waterwheel - setting out about 5 - 5.30pm to drive the B979 to Stonehaven and the Bervie Chipper :D. After a supper we can amble across to the harbour for wee drinkie and chat at one of the harbour pubs.

I've booked tables for 15 those on the list as maybe let me know ASAP so I can get you some seats.
This would then be followed by a blast along the A957 and South Deeside Road to Aberdeen via Banchory.

The Chip Butty List -
1. Paul + Jackie
2. Nenah
3. Martin + Cass?
4. Greg (Red Cooper S)
5. Sleepy Rascal (Depending on Camels)
6. Seany (Maybe)
7. Sheilz
8. Julz and Rob
9. miniFEF and a car full
10. Duncan + Helen
11. John + 1
12. Jim + Louise
12.1 Steve + 1 (AberdeenMINI)
14. Lynne and John

The Dogfather
3rd August 2004, 08:57 PM
Nenah, would be happy to. Geez those eyeslashes!

If we are sticking to Friday/Saturday we have two choices sooner or later? So either 21/22 August or 10/11 September. Martin, Sleepy are you OK with these?

Gismo
3rd August 2004, 09:03 PM
Sorry cannot make any date, but, once you have decided on a date and get confirmed numbers i'll make this a sticky for ya :p

Sheilz
3rd August 2004, 09:03 PM
Aye, this sounds fine with me though I'd appreciate the date being aettled quite quckly so that I can bribe/blackmail necessary individuals at work!

The Dogfather
3rd August 2004, 09:13 PM
Executive decision, going for the Saturday 22nd August (should be better weather, Ha!)

4th August 2004, 12:48 AM

Nenah
4th August 2004, 12:50 AM
Looks like I wont be able to make 22nd either as have another event on that day out at Haddo House :(
I'm sure the kiddies would love it if 20 or so mini's arrived...kidding! - its party season and we're flat out most weekends till October. Sorry to miss it! Have a chip butty for me!

The Dogfather
4th August 2004, 03:33 AM
Knickers! It was meant to be Saturday the 21st but I'm obviously a numpty who can't read a calendar.

Given that weekends are a problem for the Oz contingency would a mid week day be better, say a Wednesday, say 25th August.

Would mean a 7pm start.

By the way Maxine saw your car tonight as I drove past Inverurie, would have flashed but was in the Audi so would have looked rather odd....

Good to see the Aberdeen folks arranging a regular meet. I lived in Aberdeen for 4 years and Helen has relatives there so we are up there quite often. We will come along on one of your meets if thats OK, weekdays don't suit us best as it's a 2 hour drive but a weekend meet would be great. (21/22 Aug OK for us)

So at the risk of peeing off Maxine we'll do the 21st August. Can people now confirm that they can make this date!!!!

Maybe you should have put this in a different thread Seany, as this one is for a cruise in Aberdeen, which is just a wee bit faaaaaar away (holds platic cow in air, 'this is small, but those ones out there are faaaaaar away' - name that clip!!;))

Thats ok with me. Although my schedule tends to change as fast as a camel on speed, so ill keep you posted. At the moment thats fine though. I'm not sure if a camel on speed is actually that fast, but when I was last on a camel it felt pretty fast to me, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't on speed, so if it had been, I imagine it would have moved pretty fast.

The Dogfather

Camels on speed. Or how about a penguin on acid? A hippo on laxatives? Or rabbits on viagra?

Nenah

There is an Aussie Restaurant - Roo's Leap at Montrose - think that should be the next venue after 21st but maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself! :D

We haven't done many events recently as a lot of the companies we deal started to suffer from event overload.:sleepy:

Another succesful mini-mini meet with the Aberdeen crew - thanks to Paul for his hard work organising and to all those who showed up as promised. It wa a good chance to get to know some of you better and good to meet you new members - a great chilled night with a good run (despite merc slowing us down!) and F-A-B fish and chips. Look forward to cathing up with those who'll be on the Harvest Run on 29th!

Finally got round to sorting a photo out. Heres the one I took on the run - from the start at the Waterwheel pub.
