Not knowing everything about the R56, I take it the pcd for wheels hasn't changed and an r50 wheel will fit ? Ie the centre hub size hasn't changed ??.

Correct craig. I had bullets on my R56 which as you know were originally on the Gen 1's

I was only on about hub sizes. There are a few wheels that don't fit due to various disc/caliper sizes.

PCD, hub size is the same. R56's use M14 bolts, R53's use M12's - but this doesn't affect the wheels, only the hubs.

OEM wheels have crap offsets, that's the biggest problem when it comes to clearing brakes

That's right Rob. Duncan bought my Minilites for his R56 (neither of us were aware of any fitment probs), but I think it was the BOLTS that were the problem.

Yes. It was the the size of the bolt holes in the Minilites that were the problem.
The original R50 7 hole wheels fit over R56 Cooper brakes (but not the bigger Cooper S brakes :sad:) and are now the standard Cooper R56 Cooper wheels

I think they looked great on my R56 Cooper

Craig does indeed probably require some form of therapy after the amount of input he's had to this episode and the over-exposure to my fantastic decision making skills.

I’d love nothing better to be able to justify them but simply cant. I have absolutely nothing to force me into the car when the more difficult conditions arise. I’ve been caught out a few times when I was younger having to abandon cars then walk when winter tyres could have got me home.

Baby Min stays on the drive and the walking boots go on. :thumbs up:

But if you really need to use your car it makes perfect sense. I take it that will be you off the Run-flats?

to be honest the bit that always worries me most is needing to get to and especially back from Aberdeen after Christmas if it's snowy, I've seen it quite treacherous and it's a long journey on your own if you're fearful. I'm generally concerned about it when others aren't so hopefully it will give me more confidence to be less paranoid.

Not on runflats - My last car was. To be honest I still feel less planted in the new car and can't quite figure it out, it's the only thing that bothers me about an otherwise fab car. I find myself being strangely cautious in the wet, it's weird, I think I feel like I'm floating on the road rather than planted on it. Wasn't like that in the old one. Might have to get someone to sanity check it sometime.
