Clutch replacement

I have a pal with a 2005 mini one that requires a new clutch,anyone got a rough idea what a good price from an independent garage would be,the price would be for supply and fit

I know a decent (I think) indep BMW garage I was going to suggest, but it's in Glasgow.

I have got a couple of quotes from a couple o local garages i use ,the price to supply and fit with vat is between 500-600 quid all in

I paid about £550 at an indy I use in Oxford but I was in the mini dealers the other day and the fixed price clutch replacement was £645.

So many stories of their uselessness, and refusal of warranty work. A mechanic took someone's JCW out, and decided to put pictures on his facebook, showing how fun he was having.
