gear knob

this may sound silly but ........ how does the
standard cooper gear knob come off :I

whatever u do, dont try twistin it off! i broke mine doin that, now it spins around :disapprove:

i read on some other forum, and it worked for me : pull it as hard as u can, it should come off . . . . .

As CooperTrooper say - just tug it.

I found knocking the gear into reverse and then pulling up on the knob worked. There have been reports on Mini2 of people smacking themselves in the teeth with it when it finally comes off - so be careful

I sometimes find its easy to remove if you thrash the daylights out of it and as you go from 1st into 2nd the gear nob lands somewhere in the back seat.:D

My girlfriend pulled my knob off trying to put it into reverse. Its just a plastic clip, dont twist it or it will break.

My one gets really cold in the winter. It is sometimes almost painful to hold! I have been known to ask passengers to give it a rub to try to remedy the situation.
