Peter vardy told me this morning that if I went for the 18inch JCW wheels I have been discussing with you guys.. that there would be a small additional cost for wheel allignment/ camber and to stop the steering piston going to full lock, to prevent the wheels catching as they are bigger.. this to me would make sense if the suspension is lowered with restricted room under the arches.. but i dont see any additional work as a requirment as the wheels going on are just an inch bigger and with the standard suspension creating no issues....

We had the exact wheels you're talking about on and we didn't put the modification on our R56 and had no problems at all. But I think you may be struggling to get a MINI dealer supply and fit those wheels without fitting the steering limiter - even though in my opinion and experience it's not required.

cool.. ill keep that in mind and tell them when im speaking to them this comming week.. how much does the steering limiter actually stop the wheels from turning.. and do your wheels ever catch or anything since you dont have that done?

Have you considered aftermarket? Just playing devil’s advocate.
Surely something like the Ultraleggeras or maybe Rota SDMs would look pretty good?

the steering limiter is OTT imho.... I had 18's on my R53 and my R56 and never had any issue with rubbing.... Just buy the wheels and tyres from them and fit them yourself ;)

I've no idea what it looks like but it was fitted to the red R53 we bought from Grassicks as the previous owner had already fitted 18" JCW wheels. I found it limited my steering a lot and I didn't like it.

Neither, mine was a Clubbie S. I’ll try an dig out a shot of it with the OZ ultraleggeras on.

what I would say Stephen is dont worry about it not being fitted, it will not cause problems with your mini....

There’s more pics of it with the OZ wheels in the Highland Tour II thread here from this page onwards (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?17915-TwR-II-The-Highland-Tour-This-weekend/page32&highlight=highland+tour)
