Well I could not complain about the weather with a few dull days. Fort Augustus, Mallaig, Oban and Skye Via Plockton. It really took till Friday for it to rain and it was always the back up day if the other days looked dodgy so just went to the Nevis Range, Fort-William and down Glen Nevis.

On the Thursday we made our way to Skye, via Plockton, if I had known it was going to be blue sky with amazing visibility I’d have pushed on and got away that wee bit earlier and got to Applecross. But then again I really want to spend a good few hours there and it needs to be a stunning day to do it. Next time! Roads were almost dead so very enjoyable.

In all very relaxing, and very quiet at the Lodge, truth be told I could have just sat there all day watching the Boats go past. So I think next year we will go back. The Lodges were fantastic, so very quiet and no midges for some reason, you could sit out at any time with your Coffee and not see one of the wee blighters. 200 yards from the Canal so you seen everything that went past, even got a beep beep from the Coal puffer as it went by.

The Robin was at my Local Hero beach, it was very dull by the time I got there on the Monday so the pictures are a bit naff, but this little chap was all over the car on the mirrors and nearly in once or twice in the car park.

Anyway a few Pic's.

Cheers all, and very nice offer from you Craig.

I take it you have seen the Deer that walk down by the water past the place, looked out early and there it was and my dam Camera was in the car. Later that night it was the same one back.

It actually takes a bit of getting used too, the other lodges had people but even so it was so quiet and pitch dark at night. You go out with a coffee at night and all you can see is the odd wee light far off in the distance and the noise of water in the distance. I found out a few days later when I took a walk over the other side it’s was the small overflow and the river that runs parallel.

Anyway you can’t loose, you have the Caledonian Canal a literal stones throw and Nevis range in the distance so there is always something to enjoy out the front windows.

Missed out the Aston DB6 that was cutting about Oban.

Yeah there are 4 or 5 deer that live I'n the field to the left ;)

It's a tranquil setting and the rushing water is great ;)

Nice Aston :yes nod:
