View Full Version : Blackberry - iTunes sync question

Lenore's been looking at the BB Bold 9900.

For those of a Blackberry persuasion... Is it possible to sync a Blackberry with my iTunes library? The majority of the tunes in my iTunes library were ripped from the original CD's - a few have been bought on iTunes but mostly mine which she wouldn't want anyway.

When she got the 9700 a couple of years ago, we had to install Blackberry Sync and we got some tunes on her phone that way, but I'm sure we had to re-rip the CD's into BB Sync in order to get them on. I understand it that you can now sync a BB with iTunes, but I'm not sure if it's just "playlists" without the tunes that you sync, or if the whole library will sync. I am guessing there will be some sort of problem with DRM.

Any help would be appreciated.

I used double twist and it deleted some of my song files from my Mac.

Having seen the new BB OS and the 9900 I can't help but wonder if RIM are due a takeover soon, give it a few months and I expect they will. Nokia could go the same way..... Used a BB (v6.0) for a week and still have the (mental) scars, its an obtuse and painful OS IMO.

Haven't used it but I believe this is what you use to sync media.

Have you tried asking on the BB Forums?

Paul, totally agree with you. If the devil was indeed reincarnated I think it would be in the form of BB software. But, it's the phone of choice for Lenore and who am I to argue with her? I've tried talking some iPhone sense into her but she likes a phone with buttons. I suggested I buy her a Nokia 3320 but that was met with a slap.

I've installed the BB sync program last time (for her 9700) but it didn't sync with iTunes. Wasn't sure if the newer phones did or not.:idunno:

Andy, has she looked at the HTC Cha Cha?

OK, its marketed as the Facebook phone but its full on Android phone, full keyboard and touchscreen. Or perhaps even a slider like one of the new Android ones coming out soon.

Sorry mate, not a BB user and I'm tasked with iPhone and Android so I don't even use them with work. Like I said though the BB forums are supposed to be excellent for support.
