Has anyone bought a front aero bumper for an R50 - R53 Mini recently?

Any ideas of cost (part only, will get it panted locally)

Road kill claimed mine last night, back to the standard bumper for now

Think they are circa £300 from Stealers. Might be worth trying a salvage yard?

I picked one up off the racers a year or 2 ago aswell

Thanks - not sure what to do - love the aero bumper. Standard one just looks rubbish in comparison. Like your posts Forbes, makes me realise there's someone else out there who's as nuts as me when it comes to changing wheels bumpers etc!

Just bought my 7th set of wheels, think you can beat that though! :-)

This is tempting:

Watch if you're buying a replica aero bumper, I've heard some stories of them not fitting as well as OEM

That's what I was thinking, the genuine aero bumpers aren't a great anyway!

Phoned the dealers today, they want £277 just for the bumper skin. think i might keep my eyes out for a second hand one...... :-(

Spoke to one of the racers (Vic Covey) and bought an aero bumper from http://www.minisparesuk.com (http://www.minisparesuk.com/products/)

They're not genuine parts but the guys swear by them, as close to original parts as you can get and almost half the price. Get it on Friday, will keep you posted!

Looks pretty good & can't argue with almost half the price of a genuine one!

It is slightly more flexible than a genuine one, the grills will take a bit of playing to make them fit. I may need to glue them in. The holes in the lower skirt are also a bit bigger, no problem though, I was planning to bolt it to the mounting plates instead of using those silly little plastic fasteners.

Need to find a painter who'll work for cash now!
