Still time to enter this guys (not too far from the border)
Just a week to go now until the Lakes Tour & still time to get your entry in.
For those who have never been, it is a weekend away for Mini & MINI owners in the Lake District.
We have our own field at a top campsite (B&B also available) The campsite has good clean showers, a shop, bar, cafe, takeaway, nightclub, & even a car wash
While it is a weekender - you are welcome to jus come for one day.
Provisional timetable:
Friday - early arrivals & beers at the local pubs in the evening
Saturday 11am - Ferry raid. We go to in convoy to the Windermere ferry & fill it with MINIS. We hold the record for the ferry which officially holds 18 cars ;)
From the ferry you make your own way to the Lakeland Motor Museum where we have a MINI only car park. Here there is a quiz/treasure hunt - We have discounted entry to the museum & Donald Campbell exhibition. There is also a cafe on site.
Saturday Night there is the site Disco or chill out in the marquee.
Sunday morning will be a navigators briefing where the routes notes will be given out & the cars set off on an epic drive over the mountain passes and through at least one watersplash. Stop for a pub lunch on route.
There is a charge for this run - I don't make any money from it - it is to cover costs, marquee hire, trophies for the best Minis, quiz & treasure hunt, window stickers, tables, seating, toilets etc.
It is £16 per car plus camping fees payable direct to the site if you are staying over.
We normally get over 100 cars taking part.
