My dealer is offering me a trade in equivalent to 29%/£3900 depreciation in 32 months of ownership and slightly less than average mileage. Car is in good condition with just a couple of minor scratches.
What would it get (roughly) in a private sale do you think?
Its Nov 01, £13400 new, BRG/White with £2000 of extras including pepper, aircon, alarm, CD, 16" wheels, SS+ etc.
For various complicated reasons I need to figure out what to do in the next 2 days!!

Rob - check out Mini Cherished to see what Mini sell the cars on for - my salesman said it's at least £1500 more than they give you for trade in.

Definitely shop around as dealers can offer wildly varying amounts.
Be open with them and let them know you are shopping around.
For my MINI I got £9500 for it (cost £11275) as a trade in but if you factor in what I would have got cash discount on the new VW it would have really been £8800 for the MINI.
In September last year when I was thinking about trading for another MINI when the car was 14 months old with 15k miles on it Dunedin offered me £8750 for it with no discount on another MINI!
If you do order another MINI get a trade in deal from the best dealer but at the same time try and sell privately. You could save yourself a good few 100 quid over the dealer.
Good luck.

OK well I've done the deal today!
New MINI on its way!
I've queue jumped and got an unexpectedly reasonable trade in due to the catalogue of problems I've had with my MINI... Charlie departs and 'Dennis' Arrives early to mid September all being well!

OK well since you all asked so nicely ;)
Red/black with red/black interior (not all red, just on seats)
Chilli Pack (inc 3-spoke steering, FIN alloys, SS+ and silver inside)
A/C,
CD with Harman Kardon (my 1st major extravagance!).
Folding heated door mirrors (my 2nd major extravagance!).
Alarm
ASC (Dont want a blank button again!)
And thats it I think!
I still like BRG/white the best, but i've had 3 BRG/white MINIs so that might have been a bit much... Red/black is the other classic Mini combo and my Dad had an original one in the 60s in that colour scheme.
Delivery sometime in early September hopefully.

Nice to hear about the new MC Rob. You getting the MFSW?
Don't forget the TLC - I'm sure you haven't.
PS Those folding mirrors should be very nice (and handy).
